Ever Seen A Grown Man Cry

Whenever miy mini-Rittergrip has come up missing, at least so far, it has always ended up clipped to the pants I wore yesterday - in the laundry basket.

You've heard of "life insurance" ... maybe somebody needs to create "knife insurance". :-)

I honestly don't understand how guys can lose knives in the hamper. Before I toss my pants in there, I make sure to take off my belt, and empty out all my pockets.

You guys don't do that??

I got ParaMilitary taken by PD and promptly lost the ZDP Delica I used to replace it. Keep looking bro

I know how you feel. I've lost a few over the years. Found some and some are still among the departed. I still miss even the two I lost as a kid. In fact I miss those the most. But keep looking. Sometimes a good knife comes back to you.

That's the primary reason that I carry an Opinel.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you find it.

Nightmare, Chaz; my heart bleeds for you.

Don't lose hope yet, though: it may still turn up!

Ouch! I bleed 4 u man. I hope you find it, leave no stone unturned, I always lose it when I put it somewhere I shouldn't, then think, "why'd I put it there?"

Last fall I lost my Delica of 11 years. I was so upset. My wife wanted to have me "looked at". I was sure I had lost it in my 85 IROC. One Saturday morning I was determined to find it. I took the bucket seat out of my Camero. This was quite a chore. I did find an Aerosmith cassette and some coins but no Delica. Three hours later I walked back into the house all dejected and found my Delica sitting on the counter. My wife asked me if that was what I was looking for. She had found it in the bottom of the clothes hamper. Now she constantly asks me if I know where my most prized pocession is.

A few weeks ago I remember a forum member said he lost his knife. I posted that I "normally" carry my knives in a belt sheath. Well on Mother's Day I carried my new Leek with G-10 scales in my pocket with it only clipped to the inside of my pocket. Bad move. I came home from brunch and it was gone. Gone, gone, gone.

This week I got another Leek and this time I ordered a Kershaw belt sheath to go with it...

Man that sent a shiver up my spine too after reading this thread.

Never lost one an i can only imagine the situation.

I carry 2 of my 3 Daily EDC's, iwb style and one in pocket with clip.

I got to thank a fella name Glock something for adapting IWB carry, i am sure it has helped me carry home since.

I really hope you find your seb brother, dont lose complete hope.

Peace

WR

Did you look in your mullet:D

I appreciate everyone's concern. I wll definitely keep trying and hoping it turns up. I should have been more concerned when the seatbelt grabbed it before but I had never had a problem with losing a clipped knife. I guess only time can heal the pain.

I have all you guys beat!!! In 15yrs of having and EDC, I have never been able to get a collection going, cause I've lost or had stolen EVERY pocket knife I've ever owned, though most were $20 or less. And the two I had the longest and were the most expensive, were confiscated at the airport (I'm just so used to having one on myself I don't think to remove it). That there is worse than loosingone let me tell you!!! This was my thinking of never spending much $$$ on an EDC knife. But realized the more I pay for one the more thoughtfull I am of not misplacing it.

My advice to you if you did have it earlier in tha day and wound up missing later, is to check the bathroom if you used it between "pocket checks". I also find my misplaced knife in the pocket of yesterdays pants. But when that does not turn up, the very next place I check is tha bathroom if I've not used it that day and layed it down somewhere.

DAMN!

Yup, that's definitely worse than my tale of misery.
Before I moved and lost most of my original collection, I had only lost 1 knife. (Benchmade Panther). Haven't lost any since the move.

It'll turn up - You just don't lose knives like that. Unless you can distinctly recall a situation where might have been stolen I reckon it's still in your world somewhere.

Did you check under the couch cushions? 99.75 of my lost knives have been under there...

Use the opportunity to order that new knife you really want, instead of beating yourself up over your loss. In the meantime maybe you may find the other, or maybe not.

I agree with everyone who says don't give up.

When you find your Sebbie, consider putting a bright colored lanyard on it. I put a bright red one on mine, and it makes it much easier to spot.
