Ever show a non-knife person your knife?

Same, my close friends see me carry and use kine all the time. Plus they're my camping buddies so they know enough to not risk harming themselves or the tool.
Honestly though, I've never had someone ruin my knives because I've only been asked maybe 3 times in my life outside of camping. Southern California just doesn't see the point of knives...... I'll leave that terrible pun in...
Anyways, where I live, I'll see someone carry maybe once every 8 months.

Are you in the LA area?

Inland Empire and Orange County. I've been from Pasadena to Palm Springs though.
99.9% of what I randomly see are utility knives on construction crews.
1 military guy I met on trail had a fixed blade.

Beyond that I have to start inquiring if the person has a knife, which would feel weird to most people.
Last week my brother was slicing pizzas with his kitchen knife but it was struggling to separate them cleanly. I opted to help and switched to my Dozier folder because it was sharper. Friends came in and 4/5 people asked me why I'm using it to cut the pizza. One girl even made a joke about "being rambo" or something....

The Dozier... Rambo....

Right...

I'm in Pasadena, so I know what your talking about. Not very friendly to knives around here.

I remember walking around a home depot with my tenacious in my RFP a couple years back. I got quite a few strange looks

I live in South Carolina. Most people around here look at you funny if you don't carry a knife. :)

I'm sorry, I had to say that. I work in a warehouse and use my knives dozens of times a day. I usually have a small fixed blade on my belt and a slip joint in the pocket. If someone asks to use my knife, I usually let them now. Mostly because everyone knows how particular I am with my blades. No issues. I'm also now known as the knife sharpener and Mr. Leather (I've made some custom knife sheaths and phone cases for people too).

I think I would have sold that knife...and bought another just like it...and no more friends like that.
