Ever sold a knife and wish you hadn't?

Seems timely to ask, now that I've got some for sale, but has this happened to you? Is the only cure to buy another to erase the memory? Or, like me, have you sold one and regretted it ever since? (I cannot speak its name

You mean you can SELL them too? DON'T tell my wife!

Sold some I wish I hadn't. Bought some I wish I hadn't. Sold an old style Spyderco Delica after I broke the clip. The guy I sold it to didn't like clips, so I figured why not? Now I ask myself why, why,WHY!!!?

Not really. For me knives are mostly a tool and if selling one will help me upgrade i'll sell with no regrets.

I think I've only sold two knives, but when I got them, I instantly knew they would not be keepers. Now that I have a better defined sense of what I like, I think I choose what I buy more carefully, and therefore am less likely to want to part with it.

In short I haven't regreted selling anything. But my fear is I'm young, and maybe I just haven't realized yet what I've lost

or something like that. I often ask myself this "is the amount of money I'll get for selling it greater than the cost of replacing it?"

I guess I've been lucky so far.

I sold my first "real" knife 2 years ago or so, a Benchmade AFCK. I finally got tired of kicking myself and bought one for $60.00 from a fellow forumite just a few weeks ago.

God I love that knife, carry it daily.

Now I use it, instead of kicking myself over sellin' it.

I had an old style Spyderco Centofante (sp?) grey with ATS34 wharnecliff style blade. At some point I thought I needed thicker blades, I think I sold it for $15 or $20.

WIsh I still had it.

As I gaze longingly at my newly sold Vector, I realise there is an upside (apart from the money) and that's making contact with fellow knife knuts

Ferret,
As the man holding my elishewitz/ Pirela EVO,
you should know I have missed knives I have sold. Now comes the tragic/funny tale of the Mammoth ivory Carson. It is a goal of mine to own individual knives that have been featured in magazine articles. I sold a Mammoth Ivory Carson M-4 at the SECKS, only to find it featured on page 149 of Knives 2001 2 months later. D'OH!
