Ever sold a knife only to buy it again later?

I sold my PM2 a couple months ago and now I'm considering buying another one. :banghead: I kept telling myself that if it had a liner lock I wouldn't have sold it in the first place. I was neutral-to-negative on the compression lock and ultimately that's what caused me to sell it. Lately I've found myself wanting one again, despite the lock. When I see pics I start thinking I should get another one...:o

Have you ever sold/traded a knife away only to find yourself looking for another one down the road? If so, tell us what knife it was, why you sold it and what made you decide you wanted it back.

Looking forward to reading some of your stories...

I traded my plain small Sebenza, and then missed it and bought another about a month later. Apparently, the stupidity had not fully worn off yet, as I traded that one away again about a year later!!!! The next one I bought I still have:thumbup:

I sold my Kershaw Speedform 3500 to a good friend. I regretted selling it (and I gave him a smokin' deal on it as well....) and I immediately told him that if he ever decided to sell it, I want it back.

Well - my friend is now on the waiting list for an 888, and he wanted to sell the Speedform so I bought it back for what he paid me for it originally.

It's going to stay in my EDC rotation drawer for good.

I always eventually regret knives that I've traded or sold. The list is too long to name them all. My latest regret began last night actually. I started missing my all black spyderco military. I cant remember what i traded it for but I was going through a catch and release phase and unfortunately didn't give the knife a fair chance at getting to know it.

What made me regret it was the member on this forum that posted the pic in a thread about beaters. He has an old military from 1992 and has redrilled screws, did work on the clip... Just put tons of care and love into that knife. To see it 20 years later was beyond cool and inspiring. And it made the military seem like the most badass knife ever and now im missing mine in the worst way.

I cant remember that member's name but if he is reading this. ..thanks for the inspiration! !

Ive never sold a knife and later regretted it but I have traded some away and then later bought another. A couple reasons for that, one being I don't sell much stuff unless I really dislike it, I learned along time ago from regretting selling to many beloved things (mostly guns and cars) to not sell anything, ever, unless I just flat out dont like it, even if I don't use it now I'd rather hang on to it.

The other Reason is (and this has hapened in several cases) where Ive had a knife or a high-end flashlight or a firearm in like new condition and traded it because it was worth quite a bit and then bought the same item but in user/not NIB condition so i could actually have one to play with.

Nope. The only one I miss is one I gave a friend as a gift, but I have enough knives and wouldn't re-buy that one.

Too many times!
Sm Sebenza (wound up getting a tanto sm Seb a while after)
Umnumzaan (Realizing I should have kept it... I haven't picked one up yet but it'll come around)
Mini Grip (It's a go everywhere knife...glad i got another)
HEST folder (Traded the last 2, looking for another one)
Skyline (c'mon, can't be without one in the rotation)
Lava (found another luckily)
Para 2 (I'm on my 3rd or 4th black scales and DLC blade)
and a few others that don't come to mind right away...

The compression lock quickly became my favorite lock type of all time and i wish all my modern folders had this lock setup now lol. To answer the question though yes the Kershaw R.A.M. I picked one up for pretty cheap really before they discontinued them and really loved that knife but i eventually gifted it to my dad and have missed it since. I keep saying I'm going to buy another one but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

esee 4. i dislike the coatings, but a week right after i sold mine, i want it back. must get myself another try of it.

I sold a Box Elder Mnandi and after a couple months of missing it, bought another one the other day.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has done that. I have sold knives a lot of years ago that I wish I never sold. Last year I gave away an AK-47 I went and bought another one because it was a mistake to get rid of it.
