Anyone use an Evers tang stamp on materials other than steel? I was thinking mainly micarta and especially G10. Would this damage the stamp? Maybe this has an obvious answer, but I haven't seen anything on it yet and don't want to damage my stamp. Thanks!

I have one stamp setup for leather. But I would say if you was going use a stamp for something like that, you may need to heat the stamp up a little before making the impression. What it will look like when you are done that's something else.

I don't see how stamping something like micarta would damage the stamp. They are designed to stamp steel, and steel is a lot harder than micarta:D

I've used my stamp with no problems for putting my STR initials on titanium, talonite, steel, aluminum, leather, G10, carbon fiber and FRN but not Micarta that I recall. I'm sure it would work on Micarta though. You won't have to hit it as hard for G10 or other synthetics as for the titanium, steel, or talonite but that is about the only difference I've noted.

Great, that's what I was looking for. If it has worked for you on carbon fiber and G10 with no problems it should be good for what I'm thinking. Thanks!

The items you mentioned will do nothing to the stamp. They are VERY tough.
