Yeah, what J said.

Gonna watch this a couple more times.

Tough men out there.

Thank You

chibbi, i am gonna check that out for sure. i will tell you this. the helmand province is no joke, by far one of the worst area's in afghanistan. a lot of good American soldiers and other freedom fighters have given there life in that region for sure.

all i know is whether is afghanistan, iraq, vietnam, or any other place. i hope all of my fallen American brothers rest in the eternal peace of heaven and may there enemies souls burn in the hell forever.

and to be honest not sure of the market of afghan weed but its got to be there as them boys grow thousands upon thousands upon thousands of pounds of it. i remember the one of the first fire fights i got in over there. we pushed into the fields to eliminate the threat and somewhere in the middle i noticed something about 11 inches long sitting on my shoulder blocking my peripheral vision and as i looked over realized it was a foot long bud lol. and all most all of it is the super sticky almost wet looking bud. don't get me wrong they push the opium/heroin like its going out of business also and thats probably the main money maker but hell look at those fields, thats millions of millions of dollars also

Well, just finished watching Restrepo,,, pretty intense movie,,,

What bugs me the most now is the feeling that those guys are trying to do good for the people over there,,, bring a road and all,,, but the locals are so ignorant and/or too stupid to appreciate that,,, can't shake the feelin' that I personally wouldn't bother and let them live in the filth and ignorance they so clearly prefer,,,

Those soldiers are way better men then I am for I would just carpetbomb the hell out of that valley and cover it in asphalt,,,

Sorry for not being very PC at the moment, but the movie kinda got to me,,,

Respect to all those serving overthere, be they US, Danish, Belgian, British, Dutch, Canadian or whatever else nationality of the coalition forces,,,

The worst part. When they were talking with elders about people being detained. And he was like. What about Mohammad. You took him he never returned. And the Capt said. Because I saw him cut those peoples heads off on video. And that old dude didn't even blink. I get so mad.

Yeah mang,,, I totally know where you're coming from,,,

It's like the Capt. always tries to talk to them about building the road and trying to improve their standard of life,,, and they're like going 'we want money for the cow you soldiers killed'

How do you take a people from the 13th century into the world of today? Maybe it takes hundreds of years?

I know a country that is 500 years back in time, people have nothing....no education no food, no interest in more than today.
The situation is that they are ignorants, not in the way that they are stupid, in the way that they don't even have the opportunity to learn something else.
The problem now is that drugs and easy money get them faster than a book.
These pour people think something like....Freedom...what is that?

Most of people don't want to be helped, some times because they are to proud of themselves or because they are afraid of others. In any case is the duty of the most developed countries is to help others.

I truly believe that education is the key to a free world, education gives you the opportunity to choose what you want, the opportunity to read a book or communicate, the opportunity to be a good or a bad guy.

There are lots of non-profit organizations in this world, helping others and doing a good job....but the job of the army is one of the most important. The army is probably the biggest helping organization in this world.

Stay safe y'all.....kill the corrupt.

just watched Restrepo and had to stop half way through, pretty intense, started bringin back alot of memories and feelings that i had thought were in check.

I suspected it might bring back some "haunts" to you guys who were on the ground.

Thanks for your service troop... I've always admired you "ground pounders" for what you do, but never understood how you could do it day after day.

My thanks and props to you all.
