'Every Day Carry' Fighting Mid-sized Camp Bowie for Backpacking Hunters.

Unfortunately, no.:( I would enjoy meeting the maker of such a fine knife. I hope to make it next year and bring a load of cash. Thank you Karl, Stephen

Maybe you have something in your eye!

I guess I don't understand your statement.
"it looks slightly handle heavy"?
It's actually a tad nose-heavy, like I stated in my description.
You can fondle it in Atlanta and tell me what you think then.

I mean to my eye (aesthetically) it looks to be quite thick towards the butt of the handle in relationship to blade width/length. I realize it balances well as that's a given with your knives. Anyway as stated, I like it very much (one of my favorites). However if I praise a knife I'm also going to state what if anything I don't like as much.

I will fondle it at Blade as I never miss your table. You always have some the most pleasurable knives to handle no matter what show. Besides, I like the cool factor of take-downs and you are the "king" in that department IMO.

Very nice Karl, I really like the wood and nice touch twisting the wrought. What do you use to etch wrought?

Hey Karl!
Now you know why I had to email you when I did!!!!!! ;) :D

Will love to check this one out when I get to Blade!

Only other Q I have , and since you didn't, IIRC, state it, I presume it's not a take down?

Either way, I'm stoked!!! :D

Can't wait for you to pick it up, Joe.
Yep - it's a take-down. Almost zero tolerance.

Mike, I take it to 1200 all over.
Soak in 3:1 H20:FeCl 15 minutes four times, cleaning off the oxide each time.
It's pretty ugly at the end so I then vigorously clean it off with 0000 after neutralizing.

Kind words, indeed, Mr. Jones.
I've certainly come up with a few "tricks" of my own, but I would have to hand the "take-down" crown to Jerry Rados.
He "thinks" his way through a knife like no man I have ever seen.
Makes me feel like I'm bumbling my way through my shop in the dark.

Tremendous looking knife in all respects. For me though it's that blade shape and hamon that does it.
Perfect.

Ian
