Everyone likes a stripper

Great pics! The thing I noticed in those pics is that the BWM is not that much thinner than the SAR8. I guess 1/32" is no that much but I pictured more.

Nice job.

It looks like your BWM does not have the line of pits that DowntownDM and I have on ours. Good for you, as they are rather fugly.

I can already tell that my BWM is really rough. It even has a gouge or dent in it under the paint. It would take a lot of sanding to take that down. I think I'll leave the paint on mine and just let it be funky with that big convex edge. Or else just strip it and call it my "CE" version. It's ok if it's ugly and you call it "Competition Grade" or some such. :D But the mikeymoto one looks outstanding.

Mine is definitely not smooth like a satin finish. I think the lighting and angles of the photos mask the smaller inconsistencies. The finish on this BWM is not as fugly underneath as a FFBM I stripped, but it's not that great either. All I did to clean up the BWM after stripping it was take a Scotch Brite wheel to it.

Well, it looks darned good to me, mikey.

Looks good to me to MikeyMoto, I wonder why its not offered like the sarsquatch as an option. Beings alotta guys/Hogs strip them anyways. Just a thought, I love the satin look also,my favroite.

Even if it has some rough spots its the incredible edge and handle reinstalling that makes this one such a looker. Great work!! Thanks again for sharing.

BTW, it was suggested to use a SS wire wheel on a bench grinder for this type of work also. I didn't believe it until I tried this at work. The finish looks between a "Ban Frosty Finish" and DC. Might be worth a try for the strippers in here. Make sure its a SS wheel though. The regular ones don't do a thing.
