Everyone read Quickly!

Well, I got an apology. Rgray Accidently deleted my post here.

However this does not rule out the fact that Vipers post was deleted within minutes also.

I know being a moderator and all has its thrills (like the delete post button) but you need to watch it man. Do it too much and you will lose people very quickly.

Ok, first off, RGRAY was wrong to delete anything out of hand. Our policy is to save the information in case it has to be used later.

I'll talk with RGRAY about this right quick. Until then, I've temporarily removed him as moderator in the For Sale forums

Second, it's extremely poor taste to advertise your competing site on BladeForums.com. What exactly is the ethical justification you have in
1. Not paying to advertise here as a dealer and
2. Turning around and trying to hoodwink people into visiting your competing site?

Kevin

KEvin,
Rgray Said he accidentaly deleted the post so that is fine by me. Accidents happen

BUT

#1 it is not my competing site. It is just a site that is one I frequent and also would like people to know about. Thus I place it in my SIg line (which is not AGAINST the rules)
#2 I don not have to SCAM anyone. I never have and I never will and I find it very disturbing you would accuse me of scamming. I also do not appreciate it. I am not a dealer. Feel free to do some checking around and you will find this out.
I am someone that supports Custom Knife Makers and I also support the Knife Industry.

I have deleted my first post out of respect to you, Rgray, and Bladeforums however by your insinuations against me as a so called Scam artist I will rethink my whole postion on respect.

When you make a post titled "EVERYBODY READ QUICKLY" and then post that there are "dealer forums too!", I'd say you are pulling some kind of trick, and if scam isn't the right term then maybe scheme, hoodwink, or some other would more suit the bill. What would you call it?

Anyhow, believe me, I am not in the mood for a pissing contest right now. Maybe RGRAY jumped the gun by accidentally deleting a thread. Maybe you jumped the gun by posting this thread. Maybe if everyone exercised some more patience before making outraged posts there'd be less of them?

Kevin

I have no desire for your pissing contest either, that is why ONCE AGAIN I deleted the whole post.

No Kevin, it is neither a scheme nor a hoodwink. I posted it as Read this Quickly because it seems like the last 3-4 posts I have out have been deleted very quickly.

I right now could care less if you go ahead and delete this thread. My problem was with Rgray until he sent me a nice note explaining it was an accident. I then attempted to delete the thread on my own, but couldn't.

As I have said earlier
Where there was once respect and support, there is none now. Which you brought upon yourself by false accusations of trying to scam people. I don't appreciate unfounded accusations.
Let me guess, your standard (as of lately) reply would be to get lost?

I tried to reconcile with you, however you pressed instead of realizing that I am simply trying to get an answer for the unfounded deletions of posts

Your sig is not an issue as far as I know, ShadowE. Only people who've paid for dealer memberships can post ads in the dealer forums.

I'm not sure if the thread that was deleted from TGB&U can be restored or not. If it can be it will be. I would like to assure everybody that was an isolated mistake and it is not Bladeforums policy to do things like that.

Try not to be too much of a hypocrite there, buddy, when you are busy tapping away at the keyboards. You'll find that you get a bunch more leeway when you bother to take the time *not* to fly off the handle in the first place. Again, if you find scam to be an incorrect word, feel free to substitute the correct one.

Instead of trying to shift the onus of your own actions onto my replies to them, how about you realize that most of the mess you are experiencing is of your own making, and maybe it wouldn't be so unpleasant if you hadn't made it that way to begin with? Posting several threads in multiple forums about how we're just deleting threads and screwing around with people is uncalled for, and I don't appreciate your insinuations and allegations, which might I add, you showed zero hesistation in posting right here.

So, my advice would be to first take a few calming breaths and realize just what you did to escalate this into what it now is. Then take a few more, and realize that not only is it not a dire emergency, but something that, quite frankly, you shouldn't be worrying about now that you've gotten a perfectly good explanation for it.

Kevin

This is why I DELETED my first post Kevin.

I have done nothing more than to defend myself against an accustation of scamming people. People do not need to be scammed in order to realize there ARE other websites. It is simply a mere fact, one which you cannot accept.

Once again for the record, I did delete my first post. Which maybe 1 person saw. I believe it was you also.

Added,

Also I don't consider this a mess and I have not flown off the handle. My post was concerning the deletion of posts which I have gotton more than an ample answer from two moderators on it. Much nicer responses I might add than yours. As owner of this site I would expect the same consideration from you as you expect from me as a customer to this site. Anything less would be considered bad business practice and frankly speaking ever since the change on the forums your attitude with people has driven many away. Some of which may have stayed and helped support the forum. This is what I am now referring to. I also helped support you during the change, which, considering your attitude as of late makes me regret that decision.
Say what you will in defense, however do realize that I am by far the only person that feels this way.

This is not what I wanted from this thread. I have explained my actions (several times) and have had to be put on the defensive by actions other than my own.

Fine then - the word scam has been replaced with hoodwink; happy?

Kevin

Kevin,

Actually, CKD is a paying advertising contributor to the forums here.

Jason was professional enough to write me first to request permission to use the CKD graphic in his signatures. I gave him permission to use it as he saw fit. I'm proud that someone feels strong enough to personally endorse our efforts, which are many. Of course, we charge nothing and sell no advertising, so I never saw it as a conflict of interest to use it here or elsewhere. Also, considering you've visited and posted on the forums area of the CKD yourself, I assumed we had your mutual endorsement. If I'm not mistaken, your signature there says "Webmaster of BladeForums.com", which I have no concern with at all.

Let me know if you feel the need to curb this usage, and I'll require that no CKD members can use this logo in their signatures on this URL. You might note that I use it as well, so this rule would likely affect me too.

Alex

No, my response was geared towards the (now deleted) part of his post where he essentially said - "Hey, there's dealer forums too!" That was the main thing I had issue with - slamming us, and posting what appeared to be his competing site all at the same time.

Kevin

MAN!!! can't we all just get along??? Everybody knows there are other sites. Actually, if it had been ignored, I think that would have bode quite well FOR you Spark. would not have seemed so petty.

there is plenty of room for all of us. Let's all play nice together.

BTW, I tried to go Gold the other day and got an error page. I never heard back on my email, I'll try again. Just wanted to wait a few more days to make sure my card did not do some sort of delayed charge.
