I hate to start a thread like this, but I think it needs to be done.

I apologize if I offend anyone, that is not my intention, I am just a little annoyed and want to bring this issue to light and maybe start a positive discussion on how best to maybe deal with with this as a community.

To the point;

I have noticed a huge increase over the past month of re-listing knives after they are off page one in both exchanges, but mostly the custom one.

I get it, page one is king, but there are rules on this forum (I have learned that through numerous infractions) and they need to be followed.

More importantly, it annoys those of us who are on the exchange constantly looking to buy, and it pushes other listings down the line and eventually to page 2.

We all want to sell our knives yesterday, and I know page one is where we all want to be, but maybe a little respect for others trying to sell, or looking for a knife to buy, should also be a consideration.

Thanks.

Just hit the little triangle on the bottom left of the post and report them ;)

I thought about that, but I don't really want to be that guy...

I have been trying really hard to ignore it, but it's become semi-epidemic lately.

You don't want to be "that guy" that can help curb the very thing you are complaining about. Yet you can't be bothered to life a finger other than to complain? SO then that makes you that "other" guy.

Rev You are a great guy!!!---Its all good.. Lets go forward...

You guys are right. Just seems odd that if I take one small miss-step that doesn't fit the rules I have an infraction notice in my 'notifications' within 1 minutes.

Do the mods pay attention to listing on the exchange?
Serious question, no sarcasm there, because I think you would have noticed the re-lists. (They are very hard to miss)

Then I would not have to be 'that guy'...

I watch the exchange pretty regularly and haven't noticed it. The good news is that infractions aren't really a big deal as long as you knock the crap off. I have had a few, earned all but one ;) and I'm no worse for the wear.

There a few up now, including ones that are on their third straight try on page one...

I guess I will just leave it at, maybe this thread will make some people think about others, and if I see some that are back to page one on a continuous basis, I will report them.

I appreciate the feedback and help...

I have 2 jobs, a family, and a pile of other things I need to do every day. This place has over 250K members, over 1 millions posts, and over 50 subforums to monitor. We cannot be everywhere at once, sorry. Many members just like you report threads because they want to part of the solution and they want to help. I know I will start paying extra special attention to your posts from now on though. Thanks for the advice on moderating. ;)

I'm gonna let you in a little secret. The majority of the people that receive warnings think that they're being singled out. I assure you that's not the case.

Also for the record you have never received an infraction

Your point about the increase of relists lately is correct. Probably due to a site problem. It stems from members not seeing recent threads/posts via their profile. A quick solution to this is subscribe to threads you're interested in.

That is quite an impressive resume, Rev. Your responsibilities as a Super Moderator here, is a full time job in itself. I for one appreciate this forum, & the way all of the Moderator's keep thing civil, before situations get out of control.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Don't worry about the rules. Take a load off and laugh at those who quckly relistntheir blade w/o any significant drop in price or change in marketing...they're our "village idots" and it's ok to be amused:)

This says a lot about you Rev, thank you.

Should have known better than to try to start a civilized thread about something I felt was an issue, it always ends up like this....

I appreciate the threat as well, not sure what I said on here to deserve it, but I am sure you will tell me.

Just to share a secret with you, we are all way too busy....

And Rycen, I never said I felt I was being singled out, this thread had nothing to do with me really, I just used me as an example of how easily one can get an infraction (warning) I apologize for perhaps using the wrong term
In my original post...

Thank you for explaining why there have been an increase in re-lists, I was not aware of any site 'issues' I will take that as fact and again thank everyone for their feedback.

Please...No need to be so melodramatic is there? Really. You don't know me, so don't start throwing red herrings around. If you wanted to start a civilized thread, you would have read your post and made some modifications before submitting it. No one is threatening anyone, again, no need for the self victimization tone either. There is a solution to your dilemma, and it's not as bad as you make it out to be. If you wanted to help, you know exactly how you can do it. You actively choose not to and that is on you, not anyone else. Your diminutive tone and inflexible position was well noted from the start, again I thank you for your backhanded compliments as they also speak loads about you. Happy Thanksgiving .
