Everyone's favorite SAK?

I have purchased about 6 classics for myself and family. I always have a classic handy. They are attached to key chains with SAK key fobs(sheath). I do not have the technology to show a picture of the key fob, sorry. My favorites are the Spartan(1) and the Super-tinker(2).

Here ya go bud. The one on the right is the Victorinox fob, the brown leather on is my own that carries the classic deeper and more secure. JUst pull out by the keyring.

It depends, for my day to day urban life it is the Compact, no questions asked. Slim, light and all the right tools.

For the outdoors, I carried either a Huntsman or an Outrider. I recently received a Farmer mod with scissors and sheep foot blade, haven't used it yet but it has great potential.

So in short my favorite is: all the above, and some others too, depending on the scenery, day of the week or whether or not I shaved that day. Is like food, I like it all... that is the problem. And if you are lurking in this forum you are either infected or close to be infected by the bug so there will never be the one knife to rule them all.

Best Regards

My favourite is the Alox Electrician. Best utility knife I've ever used: heavy and substantial enough without being difficult to carry, four best-in-class tools without anything extra. The large screwdriver is a great pry tool, the sheepsfoot blade is a perfect box cutter and utility knife, and that leaves the large blade sharp and ready for bigger tasks.

The in-line awl is awesome. It's my first choice for really heavy-duty cutting, like taking out the monster staples that hold together heavy shipping containers, or cutting a coin slot in a metal lid to create an impromptu donations jar, but can also be used for more delicate tasks that require a point.

I'll often carry the Electrician alongside another SAK or small multitool, but the Electrician is the one I count on.

I'm a huge fan of the smaller 2-layer Alox SAKs. My favorites are the Cadet, Pioneer, and Classic. I also have a Manager that I keep in my desk at work. If I had to pick just one though, it would probably be the Pioneer, even though I carry the Cadet more often because of the smaller size.

My edc is a fieldmaster. I would go with something smaller, but I use the scissors every day and I'm out in the wilderness as much as possible so the wood saw is essential for me.

If you buy more than 5 it's 2 bucks a pop. I usually pick up a half dozen or so when I see her, and carry them as give aways for folks who don't have a knife but are in need of one.

I want to be Mr. Carl when I grow up. Buying a pocket full of Classics for cheap sounds fun.

I attach both my knife ring and sheath ring to a carabiner. It wont get lost and it (knife), flashlight and keys slide off the carabiner very easily for use. My carabiner ($2-$3) is my new key chain. It works great. Check it out.

Love my Cadet and Pioneer, but have been digging the stayglow Climber and Rambler.

Vic celidor = Compact
Vic alox = Cadet
Wenger celidor = S557
Wenger alox = Standard Issue

My absolute favorite is my Syph007 custom Vic Pioneer with main blade, combo tool, scissors, inline phillips and old style mag glass.

I don't post all that often, but I'll throw my two cents in.

My Victorinox Huntsman is pretty much my EDC. I won't leave home with out it.

For something a little smaller I'll carry a Victorinox Pioneer or maybe a Climber.

WOW - Didn't realize this was my first post......

I'm having a hard time picking a SINGLE favorite:

For a big locking blade: Fireman (not one handed)
EDC Usefulness: Spartan (with a serrated blade, believe it or not)
"Tool box": Ranger (not quite as thick and cumbersome as the Champ)
Most commonly used: Climber
Favorite overall model: Explorer Plus
Most robust and comfy to use: Farmer

In spite of what I wrote in an earlier post, I guess I really don't have an overall favorite. I put an older 111 mm black nylon Nomad in my pocket today. Very light, not too bulky, ergonomically comfortable to use, fairly safe with locking blade and large screwdriver, looks good, works better than my dedicated corkscrew for opening wine. I think I'll EDC it for a few months at least.

Keith615 : Way to pop your cherry. Lookin forward to hearing more from you.
The Huntsman (in black) is also one of my daily EDC's. The scissors are fun to use and the saw actually gets through material really quick. It comes in handy at the most convenient times.
