Another delivery arrived in my PO Box today. It's a Reate made Chaves Street Liberation 229 M390 Ti/G10 Drop Point Flipper.

It's the only Chaves or Reate that I've ever purchased. It's also the smallest knife & one of the cheapest knives that I've purchased in a long time.

Bought it to add an additional brand to my collection & to diversity my carry options.

Makes a nice companion size-wise with the iMamba that I also recently purchased.

I've always enjoyed the look of those Chavez handles.

Not sure if I'd like the feel of the larger ones but the handle on this small one feels good & I like the look of the skull clip on it too.

I guess opinions differ about the clip since I believe all Chaves folders come w/an extra clip w/o the skull on it (at least mine did).

Yeah, the skull clip is a bit froufrou for my taste but to each their own I do believe they include the extra clip on all of them so it must have been a polarizing choice lol.

There exists loads of knives and styles in general I think hideous and mall ninja-ey but apparently they sell. I'm always surprised at what sells and I've learned to accept my classic "less is more" taste is likely in the minority.

The chavez have beautiful lines and it all starts with those handles. I'm a sucker for a rectangular handle, and I love the way they bevel the edges of it.

Got a couple over the weekend.

This one came into today from the maker. Deep Cuts Cutlery Little Rascal in Nitro-V at 63-64 hrc.




These are my three newest. TPK Mid Camper, Knives by Nuge Wicket, and DCC Little Rascal. All three in Nitro-V.


I really need to keep two and let one go, but I can’t decide which one I would get rid of.
