Everyone's latest acquisitions!

I am back home visiting my Dad in Missouri and was going through a box of stuff my mom had saved from when I was a kid. Check out this sweet score! I still wish I would come across the cub scout knife and the boy scout sak my dad gave me when I made Eagle, but they both remain lost to time.PXL_20241117_035034252.jpg

Consistent with my focus on vintage KAI knives, here's a rare Quince wood handled version of the Kershaw Splinter (1460) w/a 2 7/8" AUS-8A blade that I just received from a seller in Japan:

The Splinter pairs well with the Kershaw Nakamura (1480) which also has a Quince wood handle but is also noted for its bolster, which reportedly is made w/10 layers of steel, 5 layers of copper colored copper & 4 layers of brass colored copper fused together by a method called "mokume."

The Nakamura also comes w/a 2 7/8" VG10/420J2 clad blade. So, there's a lot going on w/the Nakamura in a very small package:

It's been a long time since I've posted here. But I picked up those 4 Visions. Then blade swapped them. They look much better now but I don't recommend doing it. Then I picked up the dama vision. Then finally a Stovepipe. And some others I don't seem to have pictures of.
