Yeah, about two years ago I had a handmade longbow in a six foot long pvc tube do the same thing. Just sitting in a bin in a corner. Luckily, it arrived unscathed eventually.I find that it is worth paying more for shipping via UPS or FEDEX. Sad that this seems to be the norm anymore. Some time ago I had a "pew pew" take almost a month and a half to get from it's origin to me, via the USPS. I was freaking out, the shipping FFL was freaking out as it was a custom and not cheap. Turns out that it had been sitting in some P.O. in the corner of the room completely forgotten about. Unbelievable and ridiculous.
Have had that happen a few times..I just recently had a knife purchase make a grand tour of the US, care of the USPS.
Traded a compound bow for another. Mine made it to him. I followed tracking until his hit the Baltimore hub. It never left there. Some employee got a really nice bowtech. Sad but true..Yeah, about two years ago I had a handmade longbow in a six foot long pvc tube do the same thing. Just sitting in a bin in a corner. Luckily, it arrived unscathed eventually.

My latest incoming -
*Horsewright Rodeo in AEB-L and Elk antler, with Turquoise Inlay and hand carved flower sheath. It's fantastic and is a twin to my new Ranchero! Dave included a nice small leather business card/credit card wallet too!
* And aREK Knives Benchmade 940 Sheepsfoot Re-Blade in Magnacut. This was a DIY re-blade this time. Flytanium supplied the purple anodized Ti hardware and clip, plus CF scales. I still need to find a purple Ti pivot if anyone makes them. I included pics of the donor Benchmade 940 that I bought just to get the liners, axis-lock, omega springs, pivot, and stop pin. The used blade was a butter knife that I sharpened up to use for a couple of months, and the scales were dinged up; but I planned to replace them in this build anyways. It was a little rusty inside, but I was able to clean it up with minimal pitting found.
DONOR KNIFE
THE GOOD STUFF !!!
