New walnut frag scales for my favorite Hinderer.

Got one from Bruce last month, he built me one with plain Ti scales😈

I wish! Just the one, I actually have very few duplicates in the collection 😂
Yup your vid of it over on YT prompted me to check it out. He's in WA and so am I so it made the choice easy. Sits with my Craig Browns (another WA guy).

Delivered just the other day and one of the last if not the last one he was willing to do.

Should be in my hands by the end of the week! Tom Krein full dress Alpha on my choice of options. Orange-peeled raindrop Moku-ti handle, Nichols "Intrepid"-pattern stainless damascus, antiqued bronze ano small parts.

The One Knife of 2025. Had to sell some grails to get it. I lost out on an open bid auction for a Moku-ti framelock Alpha back in January, and but some glitchiness in Facebook meant that Tom didn't see my last bid or the winner's last bid before closing the auction. We had additional bids within his predetermined five-minute anti-snipe rule, and he felt bad about it, so he honored the last bid he saw for the high bidder, saving him about $100, and offered to build me something similar for the same price. Tom is a very stand-up fellow, and it's an honor to own an absolute grail Alpha like this.

A Demko twofer.

AD20.5 Clip and a FreeReign, both in AUS 10.

I already had an AD20.5 in D2 and wanted the AUS version. So, no surprises on that one. The Shark Lock is good, though I like his Triad lock a bit better. I prefer either to liner locks or frame locks. The knife is comfortable in-hand and the 3 1/4" blade is right-sized for the types of cutting I do with my daily carry knife. High flat-ground saber. Balances under my front finger. I like AUS 10. Blade was perfectly sharpened at 15 dps on both sides. That's my preferred angle for a daily carry pocket knife.

The FreeReign I actually don't currently have a practical use for; but it was too gorgeous to pass up (a statement that only fellow knife knuts would understand). The knife has a handle with perfect (for me) ergonomics and a gorgeous drop point blade with one of Andrew's wonderful flat ground high saber grinds. Balance point is exactly under my front finger, which is my preference. I knew the blade stock was thick from watching reviews. It still kind of surprised me in-hand. Haven't done more than coon-finger it yet, but I don't think the thickness would impede use.

I attended a northern-focused trade show earlier this year, and met a young knifemaker from Nunavut there - Chad Bruce. I ordered two fixed blades, and they landed yesterday, both in AEB-L, full flat grinds, brass pins, and stonewashed blades. These are going to make great workers.PXL_20250320_192452664.jpgPXL_20250320_192506120.jpgPXL_20250320_192559048.jpgPXL_20250320_192610974.jpg

Haven't posted much lately, after a long year+ going through seperation and ultimately finally finalizing my divorce this past Tuesday, i took a little me trip to Oklahoma to visit my brother, and made a detour into OKC to check out the knife store there I've heard about, and scored these 2 little gems as my 1st of 2025, and first as a newly divorcee...
