Everyone's latest acquisitions!

The following is cross-posted from the Kershaw/ZT Picture Thread . . .

--------------------------------------------------

Just received this Kershaw Offset 1597 (dated Aug 06) that I bought off of The Exchange.

This knife won Blade Magazine's 2005 "Overall Knife of the Year Award." The 1st 1000 issued were numbered, This one is not numbered.

I put off buying this particular knife because I thought that the splattered paint decoration on the scale was just a gimmick. That & also because people were asking too much for it IMO. I bought a plain 1597G10 earlier but the price on this 1597 was too good to pass up.

So, the 1597 finally joins this collection of similarly designed Ken Onion knives:

From top to bottom they are the:

1) Boa (1580)
2) Speed Bump (1595G10)
3) Speed Bump (1596)
4) Offset (1597G10)
5) Offset (1597)

The Boa does not have the patented Stud Lock as do the others but I included it because I consider it part of the same family of knives.

There are many other variations of the Boa & Speed Bump & one other variation that I know of the Offset that I know of -- the 1597GRY, which has the body of the 1597 & the blade of the 1597G10 -- but these are the only examples of these models that I care to include in this collection.

Believe it or not, I decided to give a few TEMU specials a try while I wait for the Rat Seax to arrive...

No way to know what the steel is, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality so far. I've been carrying that around all summer in the Florida heat and humidity, and it's still flawless. Liked it for an abuser, and decided to spring for another for $20 with free shipping. Just feels great in the hand; carry it every day.

This is on the way 😁 the full shot is before it was anodized 😍View attachment 2982898View attachment 2982897View attachment 2982896

Congrats!!! 👏👏👏

You are a very patient person. Looking forward to seeing pics of the actual knife that you get.

I thought about buying one but am happy with my Spyderco K2 knockoff.😉

For those unaware of it, here's Farid's deal thread for this knife:.

Bohler K390 Project

Who knows?

If anyone else wants one, he might have few left over from the run still available for sale as a result of people on the list bailing out.

Contact him if you're interested.

So that is my actual knife, I'm the only one that opted for anodizing and laser. He is starting another run but some design changes and a steel change to M398. I'm already on that list 😁 lead time much shorter this time and I'm getting to work with him on some custom laser designs to make my next one one of a kind as well!

Oh, really. The pics that you posted looked the same as the ones in Farid's deal thread. I'll have to take another look.

Again, congrats!!! 👏👏👏
