This sweet Spyderco Amalgam arrived today thanks to @JFKlauncho on the Exchange. I have been intrigued by this particular model since its release several years ago, and have no idea why I never got one. It’s great!

A huge thank you to H HKP7K3 for this gorgeous addition to my stable. He wasn’t kidding when he said it was in new condition. Even the box felt like it had just come from the factory. I carefully opened it to find this perfectly wrapped specimen inside. Just a gorgeous, pristine example of Shiro-ey goodness.

No idea. It’s new to me too. I’ve heard it’s a semi-stainless powder steel, supposed to be pretty easy to sharpen and holds an edge well, but not as well as the common supersteels like say Magnacut or S35VN. I’ve seen people compare it to Elmax. But this is my very first experience with it.

I’m sure someone with more knowledge about it will be along to correct me if I got it wrong.

I wasn't following knives when the whole Ultem thing happend, but i absolutely love how the Livewire looks in it. I also found a Spartan Talos for really cheap, regretted selling mine. And the Guardfather OTF Icepick i wanted for years and never got around to actually getting one.
