Everyone's latest acquisitions!

Decided to add a box cutter to my EDC. Went with this little guy because it folds up nicely into my back pocket for when I need it, and it's small and thin enough that I don't really notice it back there. The build quality is fairly poor, but it's a $14 Gerber so I'm not shocked. It appears to be on washers but the action is rather stiff and I don't have the proper tool to adjust the pivot. But it locks up fine, and holds the blade with no play, although it's a little finicky to get it seated well enough that it won't contact the bottom of the frame when it's closed. There's very little clearance. I went with carbide edged blades so I won't have to replace them often, since I'm mainly gonna use this for cardboard. They're overkill but I don't mind. It's surprisingly comfortable to hold, despite its small size and blocky design. I wouldn't want to use it all day but for the occasional box or package it's more than adequate. All in all I'm happy with it for the money.

Been looking for a “real” office / EDC for a bit. Tried a Kubey Pike. Beautiful milling, but just too slim for my big mitts. Tried a Reate Tribute. Liked everything about it, even mastered its front flipper. But it was like handling an oiled bar of soap.

I think, now, I’ve found it:

Ferramonster Kroma. A smidge bigger than the others. Attractive & functional milling. Thumb studs with a slick action. And subtle (relatively) purple.

The whole Kroma knife is subtle & restrained. Very “gentlemanly.”

My other recent knife with purple… not so much:

New to me SOG Vulcan

It's a lot smaller than I envisioned considering this is a standard size and there is a mini version too. Its definitely not as beefy as a Tomcat but still pretty nice.
