*My opinion* … Microtech has some cool designs, but otherwise they’re overrated junk. I’ve only had two - a UTX-70 and a Socom Bravo Mini - neither of which I still own. Mechanically they were both garbage, especially compared to every other knife in my collection that cost much less. The UTX was way too stiff to comfortably operate (open or close), and the Socom Bravo wouldn’t operate at all - I could absolutely not open it with one hand, and even two-handed was difficult. That’s totally unacceptable for what many consider a premium brand and what they charge for their knives. Needless to say, Microtech was the first brand on my never buy again list. Sorry to see you had a similar experience.

That is not normal and should have been marked with a grenade etch indicating it is a second, or binned completely. My MSIs are smooth and my grenade SOCOM only has a small cosmetic issue.

I cleaned up the tang and now its fine. Bearings were just full of junk as well.. This will be my last microtech ever, and the first and last time ill be dealing with the dealer as well..

IME, Microtech is like a spaghetti western. 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'. A Socom Elite fixie, an Ultratech and a Stitch.

Many call certain knives a 'safe queen'. I call them Ugly. A knife that wont get much-if any at all, carry AND use time.

Expensive fun and little else.

That's Ugly.
 
The Rex121 collection continues to grow. I've had the G-10 version since it came out, but I finally picked up the Sage 5 LW from a fine BF member. What's the difference between these two models?
