The size isn't really all that bad. And if you're that worried about weight, the LW version should float your boat.

knives.jpg Just purchased from Whitty at USA MADE BLADE. I have never dealt with a finer dealer to buy and chat with. Top to bottom Southern Grind Spider Monkey, Hinderer Half Track, Hinderer Jurassic.

That's sweet. I am not a fixed blade carrying guy but that might sway me, I still feel weird about carrying a (legal) fixed blade over a (*cough cough cough*) locking folder. In a way I equate it to open carrying a 44 Mag Revolver and carrying a concealed Glock 19. :D

Don’t sweat it. Carrying mine today. Just ran around the dog park after working all day. The only time I realized I was carrying it was when i needed to cut stuff!!
Great knife, LW or G10. I have a few of both, it prefer the G10 version.

Arrived 2 days ago. Ordered it as a birthday present to myself early November of last year. My first ever custom made knife. Beautifully made by Dave Ferry of Horsewright. Sonoran Belt Knife in AEB-L Steel, Desert Ironwood, Brass and mosaic pins. 7 inches of perfection! Basically it is the crown jewel of my Bird & Trout knife collection.

I'm not really a fixed blade carry guy either. But lately they just appeal to me. And this Nyala is pretty small. Bigger than a Bradford Guardian 3.5 and feels more substantial in the hand. But it's a small knife. I'll have to post another pic so you can see the scale of it. It carries very discreetly which is important to me. Very high quality and very solid. The sheath is exquisite as well.

Here's a size comparison to a PS4 controller :

You say carries discreetly. How? I have always wanted a fixed but for the life of me can’t figure it how to carry one as discreetly as a pocket knife.

As discreetly as a folder in a pocket , no. But look at the size of this Nyala. It's barely longer than the PS4 controller. Pretty small for a fixed blade. But bigger than a Bradford Guardian 3.5. On my belt at the 10 o'clock position , it sticks out past my coat just a couple inches. I wore it out last night to test the carry and it was easily concealed and noticed by no one. I'd like to look for a horizontal carry sheath too. But I'm more than happy with the stock vertical carry one.

Waistband carry seems to be the most discreet way for the average person to carry a fixed blade. Of course we're talking small, sub 4" (in my case sometimes sub 3") fixed blades (OAL of around 7"). I usually use a G-clip (so no belt) and carry vertical, the knife will practically never be visible unless you lift your shirt, and it is very comfortable to sit with. Some might suggest horizontal carry as more comfortable, for myself it is not and it also exposes the knife more, which isn't a bad thing necessarily but if you're going for discretion it is.

Thanks. It's a handsome blade for sure and just oozes quality. The thick jimping and stone wash finish are very nice touches. Feels great to hold and carries wonderfully too.

Have a LionSteel Roundhead CF handle on the way and a ZT 0562CF with bronze anod hardware and lock side I bought here off the forum.

Hello everybody, new member here. I've owned quite a few knives and multitools since I was a kid, but I've never had anything better than a Ka-Bar USMC or a Leatherman PST until recently when the knife bug bit me. I spent about two months researching the subject, and finally settled on a TOPS Steel Eagle Delta, ZT 0801TI and a DDR Dominator 35, which all arrived in the mail yesterday...
