They sell some decent micarta scales for these beasts that make it a bit easier on the eyes and a bit less slippery of grip.KA-BAR Becker BK2 w/a nylon sheath and an accessory "tin" (including a whistle and firestarter). Bought it because it was cheap, LNIB and could be used straight "out of the box" as a basic "bushcraft" kit that would make a nice gift, if I don't use it myself.

The tin fits in the outside pocket on the sheath but, if I do use it myself, I'd leave the tin at home and only carry the whistle, the firestarter and a small sharpening stone in the pocket. The regular BK2 comes w/a molded plastic sheath w/o the accessories or a means to carry them.

First time I saw that happen on one of mine I was like WTF, now, I think it adds character.A GiantMouse ACE Biblio has joined the family! It answers the question of when is someone going to make a upgraded version of the CRKT Pilar with higher end materials. Designed by Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes, it's a small knife that has perfect ergonomics for my large mitts. It's a nice slicey blade that arrived with an extremely sharp M390 blade.
