I received this beauty in the mail this morning, so happy!

Yesterday I finally picked up a Rat 1. After a day of carry, I can see what the hype was about! This knife for the price is fantastic and I can't wait to keep carrying it.

You know I was thinking the same thing . Could be a dealer thing because inside the box was the tradional Strider baggie wrapped in bubble wrap .

And unfortunately it got shipped back the next day and waiting for a replacement. It came with a couple of nice scratches on the blade .They recieved it back this morning and haven't heard anything so I might just cancel the order but haven't decided yet. This week of waiting gave me time to scope out another Strider I've got my eye on .

Nice knife, Shame it's scratched up. I actually gave my last one away. Way to many issues for what they cost.

Yea this was a nice one to so nice I almost kept it anyway scratches and all . Was thinking about having the blade stone washed . The action was so smooth out of the "baggie" and very little lock stick also blade dead centered . This one would of broke in nicely but just couldn't get myself to accept it with a scratched blade .

I feel ya, mine had horrible lock stick and wicked late lockup. After a little over a year the lockbar made it to the other side, about another year later it had some vertical play. A buddy of mine always wanted one, so I gave it to him and told him to send it in.

Sounds like you had a bad one no doubt . This one had a early lockup well about 20% I'd say . Almost wondering if this was a return because the action was so smooth and the blade would free fall when releasing the lock bar . No play and rock solid lock up. It was hard to let it go but glad I did now. The only other Strider I ever had that had action as good or maybe a touch better was a Strider from the performance center I liked to call a semi custom .

Trust me I fought it lol but those scratches were the first thing I saw when I opened it like a magnet on steel .
But with that being said I had it boxed up ready to go back to the dealer and almost unboxed it .
