they go and make some improvment to it that requires me to to buy it! I just heard that they are going to Wave the Rescue!:D I love my blue 93mm Rescue but a Waved Rescue is icing on the cake. I will have to get one of these for sure. Such a good idea that makes the already great Rescue even more of a great tool.

They sure pack a lot of good stuff into those Rescues without adding much weight or size. A Wave makes it an ultimate tool that has no peer. I just hope they don't bulk it up like they did the Endura and the Delica 4. Keep it linerless and FRN please. It is the light weight that I love, that and the really ergonomic handle.

Well dude they got to get you to come back somehow. :D Unless you are in the habit of chopping through metal with your folder, it will lasts for years and years.

Now, I've neverused a waved spydie, but I just don't see the appeal in having a blade open as I draw it. In fact, I prefere liner locks since they allow you to 'flick' it open with your wrist...

Wasn't it you Kgriggs8 in this post(http://bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=447860) asking about Spyderco just sticking to their bread and butter knives and not expanding or their folders may suffer. I don't think so and this is a prime example. Spyderco is a very innovative company and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

Depending on the knife, you can flip other than liner locks...the Police for example can be flicked.

Spyderco just sticking to their bread and butter knives

Ron, I glad that you brought up this object.
I need new bread and butter knives and I did not find them in 2007 catalog. What is going on????? I use Spyderco for everything :D :D :D

I was never exicted about the Wave either. I thought it was a gimmick. I recently got a Waved Endura and now I wonder why all Spydercos are not Waved. It takes nothing away from the knife so why not add the Wave to more models?

The Wave is nice, I'm sure other have noticed that the Wave on the Endura is a perfect bottle opener. I am late to the Wave game but the first thing I did with the Waved Endura after I played with it a few times to see how it worked was open a bottle of beer with it.

The Calypso III seems like a good knife to put the wave on. It is tip up only so the Wave would always work. My Waved Endura 4 has holes for tip up or tip down but if you mount it tip down, the Wave won't work. Not even a switch blade is as fast as the Wave.

I also feel I want to get a model I like again when it's been upgraded. I still have not gotten an Endura4/Delica4, which I want, due to needing my $ for other non-knife things for now. I've never really had any prob's with my Endura/Delica 3's, but I really like the idea of a slightly more durable tip and adjustable pivot among other things. I start to feel semi-envious of those who have upgraded versions. I'm half-wondering if I should wait until these models are upgraded again in a perfectly reasonable, subtle manner I've not yet thought of?? ;)

well.. give it 2 months and see if you Still like it.
I'm cutting the wave off my Delica 4 (zip tie mod)

imo it works Too good!

so depending on how folks use their knives.. i like the choice of with & without.

"I'm cutting the wave off my Delica 4 (zip tie mod)

I don't understand. What is the "zip tie mod"? By "it works too good" does that mean you think it is dangerous?

I agree on waiting a few months though. I always get over excited about new knives and it takes a couple of months to really know what to think. I often know right away what I don't like but when there is a knife that I like at first, it sometime loses it shine after the new factor wears off.

Zip Tie mod is this..

..it looks ghetto.. but it Works! ..to "wave" it open.

The first couple times I was very impressed.. wow.. draw knife.. blade is open.. Fast!

But I really Carry my knife more than I Use it.. so after a few weeks this got annoying.
Also when letting someone use my knife (not Anybody.. but other knife/gun compadres, etc).. Depending on their skill/background i'd give my usual warnings.. it's sharp, this is the lock, it's sharp.. you know.
But now had to add.. Careful of that "wave"! it'll open EVErY time you draw!".
since.. it could've been a danger to them.

If I was an EMT, SAR, etc.. this would prolly be very handy.
But like i said.. i Carry more than i Use.. so i prefer Non-waved.

oh I have a whole closet-full of "Excited, oh I Need THIS knife/gun/tool" stuff.. just sitting in the closet :)

..i'm Trying to be more Picky about the stuff i buy now!
