nice to have a full size handle for a small knife day when it's getting cold :)

aw shucks, fellas, you'll make a guy blush putting me in Andy's league,

here's the ewok on a different cold morning with a 70s case scout, you might see a pattern :)

i like how that maple burl is darkening. really looks nice.

i am taking my own sweet time, but the new sheath is really coming together. i got a safety skive which has really helped even up the edges, compared to my previous attempts. just need to to lace it up.

or, wait a minute...uhhh...apparently, the sheath wasn't flat. thought i was being careful. not sure if you can tell, but the holes on the backside are way off. they are under the belt loop. it's bad. will need to scrap this one. learning all the time! :D

nice sheath Todd, i liked the shape of the first one to though :) can't see what went wrong with ti very well in the picture, sorry, but from the sound of it you made the boo boo I've done more then once, now that's when you start doubting you intelligence :D

congrats

thanks Pete. I liked the first one too. the first one was just a pouch style sheath. when i drilled out the holes, the sheath was clearly not flat...the holes went up under the belt loop.

for this sheath, i decided to try a pancake (or flat) sheath. i will just keep it in my pocket most of the time. but, i added the eyelets so i could put a carabiner on it or something, if i wanted. i doubt i would wear it around my neck, though it would also work for that.

Here`s a hint for foldover sheaths. Take a piece of thin cardboard (from a soda carton), fold it in half, then cut the shape of the sheath. While it`s still folded, drill the holes through both sides. Unfold it and trace around the cardboard on the leather, then dot the holes and drill before folding the leather, the holes will always line up.

i'm going to have to try that. thanks!
