First let me say that I am not an employee of, nor do I have any connections with Gerber or Fiskars. I am just a consumer that happened to buy a Gerber Freeman Hunter fixed-blade. I bought it pretty much at random since I'm certainly no knife expert.

When I purchased it at a retail store I was told by the sales associate that the original Gerber sheath was missing. I did get a discount on the blade and a generic leather sheath so I’m not disappointed with the store. However, I found that the generic sheath didn’t secure the knife properly. I was unable to find an official Gerber sheath for sale separate from the knife so I emailed Gerber Sales asking if it was possible to purchase the sheath directly from Gerber. A Gerber employee responded to my email immediately and said she would send me a complementary sheath. When I offered a second time to pay for the sheath, or at least for the shipping, she responded via email; "We're very happy to provide these services whenever possible. I've shipped the sheath to your attention today." Wow!! Talk about awesome customer service!

Anyway, I just wanted to share this moment of completely exceeding my expectations.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong section. I would have posted it in the Gerber section of the manufacturers forum but there isn't one . . .

I've had great experiences with Gerber's customer service too. They always respond in a timely manner
