I recently received my second set of Griptilian scales from Kevin Wilkins. I already had three large Grips and my favorite is a Ritter in M390 with Wilkins coarse black G10 scales and blood red backspacer. I wanted to try a Mini Griptilian and bought the Ritter and ordered matching Wilkins scales and backspacer to pair with the larger knife.
Kevin is very specific in what he produces for scales--large and small Grips and Endura 4s--and sells only what he has in stock. He has come up with a unique design for Griptilians that doesn't mimic the original scale shape but provides a totally re-configured handle that feels entirely different in hand. The F&F of these scales is excellent--they actually fit the nested liners better than the factory originals. There are lots of Griptilians out there wearing Wilkins scales and it's easy to see why.
The Wilkins website shows what's in stock at the moment, the ordering and payment information is clearly spelled out, and Kevin gets right back to you by email to confirm your order, acknowledge your payment, and to forward tracking info when shipped. The scales are produced at and shipped from the KW facility in Berlin, Germany. I placed the order on the 6th, the scales shipped on the 7th, and were available for pick-up at my local PO 6 days later. That's pretty damn good from all the way on the other side of the pond.
In my two transactions with Kevin I have found him to be completely professional as well as a cordial and friendly correspondent. His work is excellent as is his service. He's a pleasure to deal with and highly recommended. Here are my two Grips in their KW shoes:
