Hi, Guys...

I'm new to the forums but have enjoyed knives for many years.

Knives, like cars, come in many different styles and prices. Every once in a while, though, you come across something that is truly exceptional...it goes beyond a simple tool, surpasses expected function and is truly, simply breathtaking. I have been lucky enough to find a few.

The ZT 0560, the Spyderco Domino, Sage II and Chapparal, the LionSteel SR-2, the small Sebenza 21, the Benchmade 707, the Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Slicer, and of course, the small Sebenza 21 have all been knives that I believe are exceptional....clear standouts....awesomeness with a blade...

The build quality, materials, tolerances, feel, look, performance and function of these knives have all been beyond expectations. On that note...cannot say enough about the LionSteel.....man that knife is a hard-use work of art that fits in your pocket.

Wondering what you guys think and if you have any truly exceptional blades to add to my list? Price and size aren't really the concern...it's more of a "best in class" kind of knife question.

I don't have it in my hands yet, but the m390 contego is my exeptional knife. I love the contego and m4 but something about the blue and black g10 drives me to drool. And m390,zdp-189, m4 are my favorite steels and in that order too. I'm also waiting on a s90v manix xl with will be freakin awesome!! I have no experience with s90v yet.

I will also add frank niro. His knives are remarkable!

The Benchmade AFCK and Rukus are my all time favorite knives truly exceptional in my opinion and of the currently still in production BM's the Contego is a standout I think.
.
From Sspyderco the Manix 2XL for the price really makes it a standout.

The ZT 0200 also really has impressed me considering how much you get for the price. Awesome knife.

The Sog Vulcan and Pentagon Elite II are standout's for sure in the Sog line up

And from Cold steel the Voyager and Holdout series offer fantastic value for a super tough and reliable knife at a great price

I know your question wasn't about value but for me many of the really great knives I've come across also impressed me because of their good price / value too..

I have knives that I like and carry more, but the Rat 1 gets my vote for an exceptional knife.

I'm surprised no-one mentioned William Henry knives yet.

Didn't see CKs post with the E10

I have a wide collection of folders and many are considered great, like my Spyderco Gayle Bradley. But the one that is tripping me out is my Cold Steel Tuff-Lite.....materials are not exotic by any means....but the design and ergos are brilliant.

Welcome to the forum. It is quite hard to say which knives I find exceptional as from the list you described I find many of my knives exceptional, I really would not buy it if I did not. My top two picks would be my Microtech Socom Elite and my ZT 0561. The Spyderco Endura for the money also performs outstandingly.

Ive been a member of the forums and interested in knives for about a year now and in that time have owned over a dozen different knives. My collection only consists of about six presently and it wasn't until I received my zt 0560 blackwash a few weeks ago that I thought a knife was truly exceptional. All the ones ive owned were great quality but this ZT absolutely blew me away the moment I held it... and it really hasn't left my reach since haha. It really raised the bar for my expectations of blades.

I was very impressed with my Spyderco Stretch in ZDP-189. It sports a fantastic blade profile, and has a solid lockup. The British Racing Green is a color that'll grow on you too, not that it really matters. Ergonomic as all get out, fits like a glove.

I am thrilled with the Spyderco G10/VG10 Dragonfly as a compact discrete folder.

I will mix these through carry this week. I think they're all exceptional!
