I just want to say hi, and warn all of you fine ladies and gentlemen that I'm probably going to be hanging around here a little more often. My usual haunts in the rest of the forum are starting to get a little wonky, so instead of turning to the bottle(or stepping away from the computer:o), I'm coming here.

Civility, comaraderie and sharing. Three traditional values that can be found in this forum.

Also, every time I see a "modern" pocket knife on the exchange I say to myself, "That's nice, but it's more or less just like my _______." I have to imagine that will happen far less often with traditional slipjoints. Ergo, more knives! :) These guys are starting to get lonely:

Thanks for listening, and if I start dragging in my usual W&C attitude, I hope one of you old boys will smack me on the back of the head and tell me to knock it off.

Welcome Rog... This is The place to be, and always good to see new folks coming in.
I don't like to speak for others, but I think its safe to say, those of us that frequent here are a little different. You will find respect for others, common courtesy, and no negativity... Unless of course, someone happens to get a knife that has quality issues.

Oh, and don't worry. If your "W&C attitude" does happen to drift in here, we have a couple really good mods that will bring it to your attention. :D

Welcome, welcome. Since you're showing some fine taste in knives already, the door is open.
(Love that Lone Wolf City knife. And the BFC Barlow.)

I guess I can let you join in over here. :D Welcome to the quite and most friendly helpful part of the forum.

Rog, as the others have said, I also welcome you even though I'm a relative newcomer myself. - Ed

Welcome, another refugee from the insanity of "certain other places". :)

I've been hanging out here for a while now although I don't often post. My traditional collection is modest, to say the least, but I'm slowly expanding, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my latest purchase, a traditional "Australian" knife.

'bout time ya got here.
:D

Seriously. In retrospect, I belonged here before I knew what bladeforums was. Or the internet, for that matter. If you look at the picture I posted, you'll see a little lockback with bone handles. Flashback: 1983. After seeing the p.o.s. knife I brought home from the local fireman's carnival, my older brother gave me that Parker "lil' mustang" and said, "Here's a knife that's not junk." Thanks Pat.

And thank you all for the warm welcome.

Welcome to the Civilized or Folksy forum, you'll like to hangin' out here, it's so Folksy, and the knives are so beautiful too.

This place is addictive. :)

Hi there Rog...welcome to Traditionals!!
Great introduction, there is a great bunch of people here.

I come here whenever I need a breath of fresh air.;)

Yup. This is friendly here. I need to come here to settle myself down from my other favorite place.

As another newcomer to this forum, it is nice to see some other fresh faces dropping in. Welcome and enjoy your stay. I know I am.

When I was growing up in rural Michigan, there was this little old general store. They sold everything from candy and groceries to hardware, guns, and ammo. Whenever you went inside, the owner and his family would greet you by name, as would the farmers and other guys who were always hanging around relaxing cheerfully and shooting the bull.

This forum is the electronic equivalent of that place. Welcome!

Welcome to a great place with down home people. Watch out the traditional knives is taking over.

Welcome. But make no mistake: You can turn to the bottle AND hang out with us, as long as you don't mind passing the bottle 'round the campfire.
