Excuse me, is this seat taken?

I just want to say hi, and warn all of you fine ladies and gentlemen that I'm probably going to be hanging around here a little more often. My usual haunts in the rest of the forum are starting to get a little wonky, so instead of turning to the bottle(or stepping away from the computer:o), I'm coming here.

Civility, comaraderie and sharing. Three traditional values that can be found in this forum.

Also, every time I see a "modern" pocket knife on the exchange I say to myself, "That's nice, but it's more or less just like my _______." I have to imagine that will happen far less often with traditional slipjoints. Ergo, more knives! :) These guys are starting to get lonely:

Thanks for listening, and if I start dragging in my usual W&C attitude, I hope one of you old boys will smack me on the back of the head and tell me to knock it off.

what is the little pearl? handled knife at the top right? i really like the looks of that one.

That's an A.G. Russell Ultimate Pen Knife with bolsters and scales, and it is MOP. I bought two, and my wife chose the one with black lip pearl. It took some getting used to because it is so small and so sharp out of the box. It was a little scary. :D Info from the sight:
Type :Folder
Blade : Drop Point
Blade Length :1-1/2″
Steel :VG-10
Rockwell :59-61
Lock :Slip Joint
Bolsters :Titanium
Liners :Titanium
Handle :Black Pearl (they seem to be out of MOP)
Closed Length :2″
Weight :0.4 oz.
Origin :Japan

Welcome. But make no mistake: You can turn to the bottle AND hang out with us, as long as you don't mind passing the bottle 'round the campfire.

We only strap 'em into Old Sparky if'n they forget their manners. ;)

Glad to have you here NTS. I am sure you can handle the split personality it takes to post here and in certain other places on BFC. "It's so easy I can even do it" and yes I have been called a caveman type.

Elliott, are we that darn shocking? :D.

OK, if we're going to start posting traditional knife/food/drink pictures, here's mine.

Yes, it's only an Opinel, but it is traditional, isn't it?

Greetings and welcome back Rog........:) Being here is a breath of sanity in an otherwise Prac/Tac world.......:D

What is that burgundy micarta folder on the bottom right? It looks like a Loveless design of some sort........

Welcome! There's plenty of room in here for the faithful and us good old boys and girls know how to make room when the need arises. :D
