I've had great experience with all Enlan & Sanrenmu knives.

However, I'd suggest you pass on the Exduct E01:

Exduct insisted the pivot screw was "too tight," and I simply needed to loosen it. Of course, that "fix" had no effect, and further, loosening the pivot from factory setting introduced significant side-to-side blade play.

Despite the video being emailed to them (they said YouTube is blocked in China), they were unwilling to offer a replacement or refund.

how do you know all of them are the same?

All the Exduct E01s the same? I don't know that. But Exduct was totally unwilling to offer a replacement or refund, even after showing them the video. It's caveat emptor and "be willing to lose your cash" with them.

Update: PayPal came through for me, and refunded my money. The video, in particular, did it, but Exduct's rep's comments on PayPal didn't help them. The PayPal rep explained (as I already knew) that return of the item is usually required, but because return costs would exceed the item, and, with the preponderance of the evidence, he could find it my favor. I offered to send the E01 to PayPal here in America, but he said that wasn't necessary.

Now that its yours anyway, do you think filing down the linerlock a small bit would help increase lockup?

I pulled it completely apart, though the screws into the stop pin were quite the "joy" to get loose. I cleaned it up (substantial amounts of caked on grease/grime), and used some 220 on the lockbar. After putting it together, the lockup is now great. Consistently proper, even if opened slowly.

Still, I will give the knife away, as first impression has left me biased against it. I know someone who will appreciate it, and, understand its possible limitations.

Well, I don't consider any of these knives worth the money :thumbdn:, especially because knives can cause serious bodily harm. I simply pass this entire conglomerate, and stick with reputed brands (pretty much all reputed knife brands have economic offerings).

Unfortunately, most of the reputable brands have outsourced their lower priced offerings, sometimes adopting the exact same models as their own (e.g., Böker).

Yup, but then these reputable brands stand behind their product should there be an issue. It's a hard lesson, and you were lucky to not have ended up with a severed finger. These Chinese cheaps*** knives are simply not worth even a glance, no matter how many supporters and "they are decent for money" crowd they have. I'd stick with Kershaw, Spyderco economic offerings than these anyday.

Regardless of whether they are or not, the fact that their CS told them to pound sand speaks volumes. I'll be avoiding their products.

I was very surprised by Exduct's response. Many have reportedly had good luck with them. Perhaps the attitude of whomever was responding was an isolated case; I was polite at every point, not making cheap accusations or similar. The assumption on their part was that I was an idiot and/or a crook trying to scam them. I just don't know if it was isolated or not. But I recommend no one buy from them without using PayPal, no direct credit cards.

Most of my Enlan and SRM products have been shipped by the Big River merchant (third-party sellers). This was my first experience with Exduct. I've also made one order from the other big Chinese knives vendor (they're "quick," LOL), and had a great experience.
