Hello dear brothers,
With God's good will today i managed to finish a new kind of knife in my portfolio and most probably the one that took me the most time to complete - i am very happy how it turned out but of course it is up to you to decide
Even though the 'exhibition' word might make you thing it is not functional i assure you that it is 100% functional and sturdy and that i was only referring of it's position in my portfolio
Only high quality and exclusive materials were used from one tip to another.
The blade is made out using a O2 core San mai steel wrapped in soft iron that was etched and surface buffed for a nice vintage look - it is crazy sharp and has a very high HRC - 62-63 so not a chopper by any mean.
The handle is a very exclusive hybrid in which highly valuable mammoth ivory and stainless Damasteel are the stars. We have a piece 10000 YO Siberian stabilized and dyed mammoth ivory as the main body followed by a spacer made out using stainless Damasteel 'Dense twist', another premium piece of natural stabilized 10000 YO Siberian mammoth ivory is the bolster to which a beautiful 'shield' made out of stainless Damasteel 'Vinland' was attached on one side. Everything is nicely buffed and shaped.
The knife comes together with a perfectly matching handmade sheath. Thick ox vegetable tanned ox leather was used for it and it wears same Damasteel and mammoth ivory accents. For a tight matching effect a lock type sheath/bolster was created and the piece of Damasteel in the sheath perfectly fits in bolster's groove once the knife is in it's sheath. Handle is visible on both parts of the sheath (back/front).
Overall the knife measures app 6.3" with an app 2.75" blade.
The price for this knife is 470 usd.
