Anyone notice the khukri that Benedict Allen is carrying? Interesting way of keeping it handy. Kind of an under the arm bladric.

Spoiler for those that have not seen it:....

Surprised that the "Survivalist" never piped up about needing all that water from day one.

Doesn't sound like much of a "survivalist" to me. I have the feeling alot of this was tweaked by the producers.

It appeared to me he was carrying it blade up. Not the safest way to draw from your sheath in a hurry. I could be wrong but it loked that way to me.

I think it was neat to see a Khuk in that setting. Hopefully we will get to see it in use.

Yeah, did anyone notice how he carried his pack around like a sack of potatoes? In a few shots the top was completely open and stuff was hanging out.....doesn't look like much of a professional to me, nor someone whose spent a lot of time with a pack on. Carrying it like that will take its toll after a week or two.

But, he was using an Osprey Kestrel 38 or 48. So at least he (or the producers) have good taste in packs.

That khukri with the edge of the blade facing his neck looked pretty foolish to me.
Consider the trip the handle and blade will make when unsheathing the knife.

Then again the whole program looked pretty foolish.
But I'll watch at least one more episode.
Rooting for the critters the whole time.
:D

When I was watching it I wondered how long the porters lasted. If I were hired on I don't know how long I would follow those people before I decided to head back home.

It is clearly a case of group related IQ decline. All these folks have pretty decent resumes, but like most "supergroups", lack a clear cut leader/follower dynamic. Smart individuals, but with a cumulative "group IQ" of about 71.

That said, will watch to see success or failure, still beats the news.

I thought I was going to learn something. Looked like a bitchfest to me. My vote goes to the Masai. They see what others don't. Have to have the real daily survivors around. Hope they show their skills more. Just carry a walking stick with a sharp point to kill lions. I will continue to watch to see what gear they have, clothes etc.

I would like to see the jerk leading it get knock on his butt. He has got to learn to treat people better or else he will get hurt.

How about some pics for those of us too poor to have satellite TV.

Nevermind, I found the website.
