There is some cool stuff out there. Jared put this stuff on one of his knives and i'm fascinated by it. Some kind of Epoxy, called 'Juma':
Agreed, the juma is pretty cool. We're planning on getting some of that in here soon and seeing what we can do with it.

I have a Fletcher TS-4 with that stuff, REALLY COOL! It is not super hard, so not slippery, even when wet!

Juma is used in pool stick making, and I like that it's being used for scales.
Andy, do you think you might do some hidden tangs at some point? I'd love to see that with the high end materials.
I think given what people pay for knives, $600 isn't really that high. Only thing is that a lot of people save for the knife that they can sit and drool over for whatever period of time it takes them to save up. It's harder for me to do if I have no idea what or when something is going to pop up that puts me over the edge. Might consider doing preview threads on these flagship models so that people at least have a few days to squirrel away a bit of dough. On the other hand, they may just sell the instant that they're posted on Fridays.
Just a thought from someone that has bought expensive knives but can't drop several bills (translation- not PAY some bills
) at the drop of a hat.
Whatever happens, I'm glad to see you continuing to diversify. I'm perfectly happy with my Fiddlebacks but moving into a different bracket/demographic/price range/whatever you want to call it is smart Imo. You certainly have a strong brand and a loyal fan base.

I have a confession. I have a bunch of your knives and I like them all, with or without extra fancy handles. The handles are all great. But the main reason I visit here every Friday is because even if I'm not buying, what you do is so nice to look at!!
