i carry a spyderco tenacious that i paid 30 bucks for and a s30v g10 leek that i found in a second hand chair that i bought (i guess the leeks valued at 80 bucks) id wodent pay over 50 for it

I started out not wanting to risk loss or damage to my more expensive knives. One day talking to my brother about a knife I gave him as a gift he said it was "too nice to use". It was then that I realized and told him "if you don't use it then it is worthless so of no use for me to have given it to you in the first place". Now I use 'em all unless I specifically have something I purchased to keep unused for later sale.

I must admit, I have a very hard time using my expensive knives.
I have a CG Sebenza that sits here by the computer, for a year now.
What a waste, also a have a Spydie pac full of Bradley's, Lum's and others
that I just can't bring myself to use. :(

As a result, I find myself using the Tenacious, Centofante, Vex and fortunately a D2 Para that has a scratch on the blade, so it became a user.

I sharpen free hand, and when I tuned up the Centofante, it now has scratches on the blade, this is not an expensive knife, and yet I feel it's lost it charisma, I ruined it. This perfectionism is a curse.

I rarely think about the cost of the knives in my pocket. I carry everything from a Spyderco UKPK to my recently purchased William Henry. I am not worried about usage or resale because I do not buy knifes to resale them. I carry what "feels right" when I go outside.

I tend to carry my higher end knives. They are a joy to use. What gets me: the high end is getting higher all the time.

Yep - I carry for pleasure and don't worry about cost. Im pretty careful about things anyway - I've never lost my keys, wallet or knife.

Lifes too short to let them sit in the safe and only use them around the house.

That about sums it up for me as well.

One day it's a $400+ CRK,next it could be a $50. Kershaw or a $500+ custom.

I just grab what I think I'll need or like to carry that day.

Today it happens to be an Emerson production mini-CQC15 :)
