I certainly have played around at this kind of thing.
There are lots of avenues I haven't explored yet, but it is all good fun. I think that people who are passionate about primitive technology are more likely to take care of our natural surroundings ..... so the more folks that are interested, the better.
I have some big 'non primitive' projects on now which will keep me busy for the next few months - and possibly even cut back my computer access. But maybe by June I might be able to start wandering around in the bush and setting a few primitive traps again.
I'm grateful for my interest in the primitive. Nowadays I realize how few 'things' I actually need to enjoy myself outdoors. I've found that D.I.Y snares are much more likely to produce meat than hours spent wandering around toting a gun.... and finding something in a trap I've made and set myself is exciting and satisfying. If our gun laws ever become absurd, I have proved that I can take game with simple home-made archery gear. I feel more self-sufficient in a number of ways. And through this interest I have become acquainted with some good folk.
