Just wanted to offer some of my experiments for sale in case anyone is interested.
None of these have sheaths, and they are all made from 1095 HT to 60 RC. Please add $8 shipping if in the US.
First two knives were not sharp at the time of the photos.
First up is one of my commando model, was experimenting with very thin handle scales, and messed around with bluing an etched hamon. The hamon is not nearly as visible unless tilted in the light the right way. Ended up looking cool, but i probably wont be doing this again.
Wearing stabilized quilted maple
sold
Next is an experimental knife made with the "frame construction" hidden tang style. Was testing this by sandwiching some thin canvas micarta between some koa scales. I also messed around with some creative filing/sanding on the wood.
Definitely going to be seeing more of this frame construction, but maybe not the decorative filing on the handle.
spine is 5/32 thick, blade is 3.75", handle is 4.25" long.
sold
Last is another black micarta sandwich with some green dyed and stabilized quilted maple making up the outside. Dont have any other pics of the handle, but just imagine a black pinstripe all around the perimeter where a full tang would be. Experimented with sandwich style again, along with a harpoon grind. Came out cool, but not sure im a fan. Both edges are sharp. This handle has got some beef to it, really fills out a medium to small sized hand, but for large hands the handle might not be quite long enough and the guard might make things a little cramped.
Brass hardware, blued flats, and 1/8 stock. blade is 4.5" and handle is 4.25"
$100
Thanks for looking, and any and all feedback is welcome.
Paypal only please and thanks!
