expirimenting with my latest knife. It started as a convex grind edge. It was very sharp but not a good slicer. Now Ive made it a sabre grind or maybe you would call it a flat grind that I got tired of grinding so I stopped half way:)

It is a better slicer now.It has a 30degree inclusive edge.I may grind it full flat but before I do I may convex the edge first to see if I can tell a difference in performance as a sort of scandi convex. If I mess up the knife It wont hurt too much as it is all a learning process
Thanks

Good for you for just going for the grind you want. Sometimes one has to jump in with both feet to make things happen. Update the thread with progression pictures to show how the grind is coming along.

Keep on a-grindin. Try full flat grinds and see if you like the slicing action as much as I do.

I agree tryppyr to your suggestion. I also am suggesting to try your convex grind from where you are now. It seems to be vey common now to go to near zero edges with some of the more later introduced stainless steels. I have found this to be so with M390 and Elmax.
