Explain Wharncliffes to me

I could live with that. Would like one with a 2.9 inch blade and the full Endura handle.
You could call knivesplus and place a phone order for that and they'll do it. I think they charge $20 on top of the price of the standard Wharncliffe endura for the regrind service. I've been enjoying carrying this blade knowing it's fairly unique.

It's here! I find if I keep what I am cutting near the edge of the countertop when chopping or slicing food it works well enough, otherwise since there is no belly there is no where for my hand to go with the countertop in the way. But I kinda suspected this. A couple passes on a ceramic rod and it was able to slice a maple bar donut in half this morning just by holding in the air by one end. My wife said, that's scary lol. Love the way it looks and glad to have a wharnie in my collection.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'd been looking at the Yurco regrinds and they are out of stock, and more expensive. I never knew this option was out there. I just ordered one! Thanks again...

Reground Endura? Looks great. I like Wharncliffes but kinda didn't like the rounded off profile towards the tip that Spyderco has used on pretty much all of them.

Trying to wonder what my PM2 wharnie would look like with that regrind 🤔

Is the tip of that stronger than the normal grind tip do you think?

I couldn't say really. Just comparing the designs, there's definitely more meat behind the tip compared to the standard PM2 so I could see the Wharnie version being stronger. I use all my knives but I generally don't do anything considered hard use with my folders compared to some knife guys. I'd rather just use my ESEE for that kind of stuff. I avoid prying with the tip of my folders unless I absolutely have no other choice so I'm not really worried about tip strength and care more about edge retention for my use cases.

I sharpen my brother in law's knife occasionally, also a PM2, and he snaps the tip off all the time lol. I should get him a PM2 wharnie and see what happens.

Cheers, that’s a helpful explanation👍. I’m thinking about getting a pm2 and was considering what to get steel wise originally, then saw the Wharnecliffe. I might throw that into the consideration now as well. 🙂

Got a PM2 Wharnie on the way to try out. I've always kinda liked the Sheepsfoot shape better vs the Wharncliffe, but they don't make the PM2 with that shape yet. That Vero Axon has caught my eye though.
Sheepsfoot or Lambsfoot for me! Wharnecliffes have their place though.
