How about opening a MRE bag. Try, please, to open it without a knife, you will really experience some fun. As mentioned above, I agree it's difficult to answer as the survival situation itself will vary dependent upon the enviromental parameters of the actual survival situation. Again the old Scout motto "Be prepaired" always worked for me. A reasonable size SAK, or Leatherman type tool and a small sharpener is essential.
