Exploring With The Little One (photo heavy)

Very cool! Nothing better than time in the outdoors with your kiddos.

Thank you! I very much agree!

Good one Brian, your daughter is really growing up. Now I have to cook hotdogs.:)

She is growing up too fast. I've been so busy lately I had been missing our time out together and just took the day off.

awesome pics, brian! your daughter is growing up fast...and i see she still loves to climb :)

Thanks Jay! Yes, too fast in my opinion lol. Yeah she definitely loves to climb still. Ed got a kick out of it when I told him her knife sheath had to fit snuggly because hiking with her is much like hiking with a monkey! Perhaps too much Curious George in her formative years :D

great post sir. Good to see folks still teaching their kids. great knives too. I have a bushcraft of theirs and love it.

Thank you. Yes Ed Martin makes fantastic knives. I have a few and have had several and gifted some to close friends. His triple tempering and double cryo-quenching of his CPM S35VN makes an awesome blade. He does some great O-1 as well. Since he is retiring later on this year I have a couple more of his knives on order. He makes some of the best knives I have ever fielded so I want to make sure and have a few around as spares.

My daughter is only 4 but I long to do this with her. I take on small hikes but I must be careful because if I take her to far in I gotta carry her out as her endurance & patience are limited.

It is certainly something you have to build up too with the little ones. Bladder control and the potty situation is another factor dads with young daughters on long hikes. I am lucky that my wife loves the outdoors too...in the warmer months anyway, and so she taught our daughter how to handle that situation when we are a few miles in and the nearest restroom is a long way away. It was a subject I really wasn't sure how to approach :)
