Extendable batons

I have been playing around with them for years and my time as a machinist has helped me create a set of weird things. Onewas combining 2- 26 inch baton ends to an 11 inch stainless bar and install the end cap stops and 'fingers' to the bar making a double ended collapsable spear. I machined a round point for one end and when you held it in your hands and spun it, it went from 30 inches to 56 in one second. I even threw it a few times and it made quite a thump into the target. Then it collapsed into itself. Hillarious in a twisted sort of way. I make baton hawks for chopper pilots over seas with a jump certified sheath for them ans they rock. I carry one now on all my outdoors excursions.

Yeah...I sell them. Though I am trying to be good in here. Something about paying for something......

Haze, what brand are those. I currently own an ASP, looking into maybe a 16in, when I bought my ASP they were cheaper than they are now. Wondering if anyone has any experience with more value priced models.

The ones I have are ASP. I have seen a few of the "budget" batons they sell over here and while they
would do a good job they are just not going to last as long as the better ones like ASP.

The guy I know who has a shop here showed me a couple of broken crappy ones that had bent shafts
and one that had a but cap that just crumbled when the baton was colapsed.
Those were bottom of the line batons and were just kept as proof of why you need one of the better ones :p

I've carried the ASP 21" for years - it's a great value. It's much shorter than a kali stick but I worry about the weight if I move up to a 26".

Someone else mentioned the Maxpedition baton holder/sheath. It's the best sheath I've ever tried - I carry it horizontal on my belt, just left of the buckle.

They work well.I have to carry one in my job.
I have to go to a training class in NC next month to be legal.
