As the title says, do you have an extra special occasion knife?

The impetus for this thread was I’m getting engaged! And for that, being a knife nut, I need to be carrying the right knife for such an occasion. Paul recently passed this one along to me which always struck me as having tuxedo lines. Which only seems fitting. Not that I’ve ever worn a true tuxedo. Anyways, knives seem to hold memories for me, and for such momentous occasions I tend to spend a bit more time. What about you?

I don’t have a picture at the moment, but I chose a proposal knife along the same frame of mind as you! I picked up one of the C and C exclusive black blade/ white g10 Buck 112’s when I proposed. Carried through our trip and still carry it occasionally now. It just felt more classy than anything else I had with the white, black and brass- really dresses up an already great knife!

Congratulations, I hope you have a long and happy marriage. I carried this Buck on my wedding day. I've had some history with that knife.

Congratulations! I have too many dressy knives to post them all here! 😁 I like something small, pocketable, and light, so it doesn't spoil the lines of a suit - though, these days, my belly tends to do that! 😱 I once wore a Bowie with a black Armani suit though :D

I carried one of my Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot SFOs to my mate's wedding, partly because I had gifted him one...

I carried this Wostenholm Penknife to my granddaughter's Christening, having bought it within an hour of her birth...

Knives on me the first date and when I told her "We will be married by the end of the year." (same night) was my normal (at the time) carry:
Old Timer 7OT, a "Demo" knife, and a stockman.
BTW ... When I told her we would be wed by the end of the year, she replied "I ain't never gettin' married, Jack!"
I reminded her my name is "Steve", and told her again we would wed before the year was out. (met and first date was 02-07-85)
On 02-28-05 she told me the date (06-01-85) which church (Trinity Lutheren) and the time (18:00/6:00 P.M.) we were getting married, along with the warning: "You better show up!!!"

I did. Contrary to her two brother's advice not to. They both claimed "She's a bitc*!" at the bachlor party the night before the wedding ... I shoulda listened to them. They knew her a lot longer than I did ... 🙄
Oh well . We all allowed at least one "oops". 😁👍

Way back when I proposed I only owned one nice pocketknife and I carried it everywhere (even in courthouses and on airplanes in those far off, olden days!!). My Buck 301 was in my pocket when I proposed to my wife (being a hopeless romantic, we were sitting in my Chevy pickup truck in front of her house, I had just come home from active duty).
Nowadays I choose from one of my nice stag handled pocketknives to carry to weddings, reunions, funerals, Memorial Day events, redeployment ceremonies, etc. OH

Wonderful reading here, I have a Case xx Barlow- one that came into this Earth around the same time as I did, this was gifted to me by Charlie, It is the Bottom Knife in the Photo- I owned the top one already- I think I gifted that top one away? but Charlie's Gifted Knife to me I carried the day I married my Sue, its a very special knife to me in so many ways. Most certainly a Knife that will be handed down with the story that Gramps carried this Knife when he married Nana :) That will be when I am far too old to be able to do anything with Knives - probably in a few months 🤣

KnifeHead KnifeHead made this KHnutbuster for me to carry on my wedding day. He stamped the inside of the liner with the life changing date. This knife was also in my pocket the day my daughter was born.

It's too precious now to EDC, but I do still carry this knife on anniversaries, birthdays, and other extra special occasions.

That will be a Schrade 34ot, I carried one the day my daughter got married. At the end of the day, I gifted my daughter my 34ot, a day I will always remember. In return she gave me the father of my 3 wonderful granddaughters. I think I got the better of deal.
