Extra Special Occasion Knife

Different kind of special occasion, and not really “fancy” knives, but these are the knives I was carrying when my daughters were born.

The Bull Nose just happened to be what I had in my pocket the day our oldest was born, and has since become a special knife that carry on her birthday each year, as well as other important moments in her life.

The #15 for our youngest (whose name is Scout) was a more intentional choice. I wanted something in Nifebrite to match her sister’s knife, and the #15 with the SCOUT shield seemed like the obvious choice. I had to seek one out, and might not have had any luck if not for the generosity of JohnDF JohnDF (thanks again, John!).

I have quite a few Special Knives and some of them have been gifted to me by a few of my good friends .
I carried these 2 today . I always carry them together and in slips .

I have always considered these 2 special also because of what they are . The one on the Left is the one I bought and paid for before I ever saw it or even a photo of it . The other one used to belong to another good friend . They are also always carried in slips .

When I carry any of them , they always bring back some great memories .

Love these Knives! 😍

I have seen very little about the Real Barlow knife by Rhidian, it does look to be from the Lockwood Bros Knife he made - how many did Rhidian make of the Barlow version? I think I remember Rhidian talking of this on the Catch Bit Podcast? I am not sure- so I will dive back and have a listen. That Bolster is something special eh!

It took a few minutes for me to realize that my blue peanut usually rides in my suit whenever I need to be presentable (baptisms, graduations, weddings, etc.) I hadn't really thought about it until this Father's Day when I was putting it into my pocket. I got it for Christmas 2019. There have probably been special occasions since then when I've carried something else, but I can't recall any.

It's just an easy knife to have on hand.

I carried a small silver Hoffritz SAK that belonged to my father. I actually had to use it on my wedding night, but that's a different story.

Congratulations on getting engaged!

I carry this Northwoods to banquet hall events like weddings, it’s been to three with me so far

I’m getting married in October and will be carry this even more special to me traditional along side my Calvary Sebenza. This Olive Wood 77 was actually in my pocket the day I proposed and got engaged as well last year 😃
