Extrema Ratio Folders

I bought a RAO and returned it the following day. There is a mistake in the design of the pivot of the blade. Quite dangerous...

I think you've bought the fantasies and on the next day sold fairy tales:jerkit:
The pivot and the lock mechanism are very strong. The nearest thing to fixed blade today....:foot:

The pivot pin of the blade unscrews when you open and close it a few times. You end up loosing the pivot, quite disappointing if you consider it should be one of the thoughests folders. I consider it a design mistake

While I do not own any, I have to admit I would love to get a RAO. There is something about that monster that does it for me :o

Let me get this straught, you bought this knife and on the seme day you opened up the knife and figure it out this problem. Come on:D
I bought the RAO last summer and I opened and closed hundred of times and there is not a single problem at all.
The funny thing is that the only report on this problem is only from you.:D

I have an Extrema Ratio Shrapnel FB and it's an awesome little knife. I very much want to pick up a Nemisis. I am a Large Man and Big knives carry well on me. I probably wouldn't carry it much anyway. Just want a Large Super Duty Folder. I have had a Lone Wolf T3 and a I now have a ZT0300 but I think they would pale in comparison to the ER Nemesis. IMHO...

If you want to hear that your folder is perfect...
maybe mine had a defect. but the pivot was coming out the first day

Thank you for that side by side of the 0301 with ER !

Does anyone have a sort of pic or .gif animation showing how the ER lock/unlock works:confused:? Something along the lines of this picture which explains the speedsafe... Thanks!

No I ment im looking for a picture which explains the extrema ratio mechanisms in detail, like with that kershaw picture for example.

they are bulit tough but I do not like the handle materials on them. The lock up is solid with a tab towards the butt to engage for more security. I like the steel they used but I' prefer the blade thickness to be a little thinner. I just think they are overpriced though.

do ya mean the locks likes on the MPC and nemisis or the one on the newer ER's??

on the nemisis/MPC's its just a std lockback with one difference, a pin slides left/right to lock/unlock the lock, when disengaged it slides thru a little channel and allows ya to unlock the lockback, when its engaged it butts up against the side of the lock back lever and prevents ya from unlocking, its no big deal imho, its also not something which ya can engage/disengage fast or one handed, i suppose it works well enought o where i wouldnt call it a gimmick, but its hardly neccesary. harder to describe it than build it lol, its not rocket science by any means, if ya think my description was lengthy IIRC dark ops has an even longer one as they use the same lock as the nemisis(there stratofighter is for all intents and puposes a nemisis, exact same design anyway)

IIRC the new ER's have a new lock i havent seen/heard anything about yet, at least nothing from anyone who has one, IIRC they are not a lock back.
