Extrema Ratio Lets See Them Guys

I think the R.E.S. and kukris look pretty cool. I'd love to see some more pics of those. I've never seen one in person, so I don't know about the ergos or performance, but they do seem to appeal to my inner repressed mall ninja on some level. :o :p

Wow! All this because I wanted to share a few pics with other ER owners.
Let me just say that ER's are solid as a rock. This one is a Military Multifunction "Multiple Roles" The saw tooth serrations on the spine are designed to aid in emergency Egress from Vehicles, Aircraft Ect. They will tear through mild steel aluminum plexiglass or what ever happens to be between you and safety. The blade is Stainless Cobalt Steel at 58 HRC and is also tough as nails. The grip although it may look uncomfortable is actually just the opposite even in the reverse grip hold. If I would have to choose one knife in my collection of over 20 years for a survival situation this one would be at the top of the list it’s just that tough. I do appreciate your comments and opinions that is what this forum is all about. However let me just say comments made by 20 year old kids “Who will remain nameless “ who in my opinion should not be playing with sharp things in the first place will just be ignored.

It's all good

Way to play on a fallacy. Really shows your maturity over us kids.

I really don't think that sawback is meant for sawing through wood!

Actually.....,those knives with the extremely rugged sawbacks, which are often used by special forces all over the world, are designed to cut open aluminium and steel etc!
They are used to cut through car-doors,airplaine hulls etc!!!

Wood=no..........,metal=like butter!!!

Door skins are fairly thin and soft steel made to be easily removed and replaced to the door frame. That is an interesting concept about the spine doing that, although it is hard to see what kind of egde they have on them. Could be a wide utility edge which could slice them but how many times they could do it would be questionable. The structural door frame would be a different story... Anyways I think it would be a cool test to get on video. That is a cool looking fixed blade shown at the top, but their folders aren't my style

I didn't bash ER.
Yes you did.

Hell, I didn't even bash the knife

I just said it was ugly.
Did you mean it as a compliment? Calling something ugly is what most people like to call bashing it. I didn't literally mean you bashed the knife with a hammer or shovel, let alone the entire company (that would be quite a feat and require a lot of footwork). But I think you knew that, so don't try to be cute.

I saw a thread, clicked on it, saw an image of a knife, and had an opinion, so I posted it. It's a very simple and common thing.
No one asked for your opinion. It is also a very common and simple thing to act like an adult. It is also very common and simple to use tact. Try it. Do you go around saying everything that is on your mind, everywhere, all of the time? That would probably get you shot. If someone makes a thread asking what you think of ER knives, that would be a great place to give your opinion. If someone makes a thread saying they want an ER knife but aren't sure, that might be a good place to give your opinion on them. If someone makes a picture thread for people to share ER pics, that would be a good place for you to keep your opinion to yourself.

Your friend walks up to you and shows you his new shirt, you think it's ugly, and you say so. Have you done something wrong?
Honesty is not wrong. But going out of your way to express your negitive opinion when it is not asked for is a little petty. Especially when the forum you are expressing yourself in is *for* a particular product, such as a picture thread, and not a topic on whether ER knives look good or not, or whether someone should buy an ER knife or not. Do you go to a Mustang forum to say that you think Mustangs are ugly (just an example). You know that will stir up trouble. So use common sense. Don't be a troll.

There is a difference between someone asking you what you think about their new shirt, and someone telling you they got a new shirt.

"Hey, I just got this new shirt."

"Yeah, well, it's ugly."

Ever heard of the term "jerk"?

You can roll your eyes at me all you want. Just don't act surprised when you make a jerk post in some lame attempt to start drama, and drama actually happens.

That's true. Now, just let it go, everyone, and we'll all be better off.

There is no edge on the inside of the serrations they are flat ground but very deep @ 5/16" from the to to bottom of the groove and taper down at the top. The blade thickness is 1/4 of an inch so it is a crowbar for sure. I have never attempted to cut my way out of anything with it but it looks like it would rip instead of cut. My one and only concern about this knife is how thick the blade profile is. "It would make a good wedge for splitting wood but it tapers up so quickly that thin slicing would be next to impossible." Here is a picture for comparison with a Sog Tigershark & Tech Bowie.

You're right about a few things. My comment was off topic and had no place in the thread, and for that I apologize. I had no intentions of causing such a fuss. I was honestly just browsing the forums, thought to myself, "Wow, that's an ugly fixed blade right there." I admit it was irresponsible, and I didn't take into consideration how sensitive people can be, even over something so utterly insignificant as my comment. I have learned my lesson.

I also don't consider what I said "bashing" the knife, as I didn't say anything that critisizes the quality, build, finish, performance, or even ergonomics of the knife. To me, I made an opinionated observation not intended to upset anybody. Maybe I'm just a different breed, but I don't think what I said is offensive at all.

I'd also like to point out that, although I am clearly the villain in this thread, the big mean ER basher, I'm the only person or thing that's actually been insulted here. I've been paired with the terms petty, jerk, troll, immature, and even had my very integrity as a knife owner insulted, and, ironicly, I'm the only one that isn't upset, apparently.

And I'll leave this topic to die with one last question:

What's worse, a person who is blunt and opinionated (a quality that many hold with some reverence), or a person who can't handle small criticisms without lashing out like an angry child over something so simple as the harmless opinion of a stranger? And that's not directed so much towards you, Hair, as another in the thread.

I just figured it out you have Torrets or something right? I had an opinion I read your comment and thought to myself " What a Jackass!" I was just being honest. For example your best friend walks up to you with his new girl and you say "Damn your Ugly!!" Is there something wrong with that?? "Is this sounding familiar to you?" If not re-read your post's im sure it will all come back to you. I could give a crap what you think about my ER I just think you have poor social skills and poor judgment henceforth should not be playing with knives. "Again just my opinion." And as far as being "Sensitive" lmao you have to kidding me! I find reading your posts very humorous. So keep it up skippy I enjoy a good laugh.
:D
