Extrema Ratio Sales! Extrema Prices!! Extrema Features???

Fondness leads to love, love leads to attachment, attachment leads to greed, greed leads to Cliff, Cliff leads to broken knives, such is the power of the dark side.

imho knives are like cars, some like fords, some like chevys, some like BMW, etc, some like particular ones for the price, features, options, etc, it just depends on what ya want and what ya wanna spend.

for overall use its probably hard to beat a spyderco delica or endura, its probably all the knife most want/need, but some want something different, doesnt make them wrong.

Looking at the serrations on the Fulcrum & MPC they are quite different in configuration to 'normal' serrations [say Spyderco style].

Can anyone with experience of these type of serrations give some glue as to performance & maintenance?

While these knives were never cheap to begin with, the strength of the euro vs. the dollar lately is making these off-the-charts expensive.

That other brand that some would say is a little "reminiscent" of Extrema Ratio is certainly controversial, but it won't have the "euro vs. dollar" problems plaguing it (when they get around to making it, that is).

While the ER folders are not my particular cup of tea (clipping one to your pants might make your pants fall down), you might need a stick of dynamite to break the locks on them. The fixed blades are terrific, especially the col moshin mentioned--they actually give you a little suitcase to carry them around in (last time I saw one).

Yeah... stock levels in the US seem to be on a low compared to 6-12 months ago- which cant help price/availability either.

Would'nt mind getting my hands on one of those other brand ones if just to get a detail look at those "...hydrodynamic grooves that direct gushing fluid..." or whatever. :barf:

Rumor has it Extrema Ratio won't sell to any distributors selling "that other brand"--can't say I blame them but it might cause these to nearly evaporate from the US market. It may already be contributing to the lack of availability on these.

I bought one of the Fulcrum folders and liked it so much I bought another. No clip because it comes with a sheath, which is my preference for such a large knife anyway. I have a Sebenza and several Striders which also have sheaths. I like them all for different reasons, but I can tell you as an old tank commander, those Fulcrums are built like one. :D
