and where does one buy an Extrema ratio in the u.s?
the only extrema ratio model ive ever handled is a shrapnell and it was big and tough i really liked it. im going to buy one eventually.
its really well made and its tough as a tank really the only thing i can think of that might be a con with this knife is that its so thick its not a super slicer but then again thats probably not what you want it for anyways.
It is a decent combat (backup) knife. The N690 steel is strong and fairly easy to sharpen which is necessary as the knife does not come razor-sharp from the factory. The fit & finish is just average: the geocamo is not coated well on the blade and the polymer handle is a bit 'loose' one the edge on the side of the blade. I don't like the plastic sheath and the knife does not fit in tightly with constant rattlings as a result.
The design of the knife itself is great and it fits well in my hand. It is light too.
I got mine in Europe for about 120 Euros (160 USD) and I think that's a fair price and I would not go beyond that for this one. If you want 'better' Extrema Ratios, I advise you to look for the Col Moshin, Venom, Doberman, and if you can import it, the Praetorian.
the handles are great. very utilitarian. rubbery, good ergos, and good weight-to-blade ratio. it's a very light knife for a ~3", .25" thick blade. tough, and the finish provides somewhat good corrosion resistance.
i had one, sold it, but am reconsidering getting another. i just need to find a sheath maker.
