extreme! becker that is...

Damn, I decided to spend some $$ to get proper length screws for my Brute with the Micarta scales. 10-24 x 1/2" is to short and 10-24 x 3/4" is to long. This was all a few local hardware stores carry!

My upgraded toys! :D

$180 is what I have found it for but still too much IMO. S30V is good in folders but not in fixed blades IMO. I would order it for you but I would have to be reimbursed for shipping etc.

Tell that to the US Army Special Forces. The official knife given to raduates is the Reeve Yarborough knife.

Made of S30V.

I prefer carbon steel for combat style blades, but for the mass market, stainless probably sells better at that price point (Strider, Reeve, etc.)

Email sent Knifefury. I'd like to buy six screws and six nuts from you. It'd help offset your costs a little bit.

I want to put the micarta on both a Brute and a Machax.

Would also like to see the pics, but they don't appear to be working anymore. Just red X's on my end.

I'm putting micarta on all my users. Here's a BK-5 with the new scales.

The Best screws for the BK1 Brute are the 11/16" cap screws. They are an odd ball size. I had a supply of them because a local shop ordered them for a large project. I am almost out and I cannot buy more unless I purchase 1000 screws. Today I bought the 3/4" length. I am going to tap a 1/4" piece of flat cold rolled steel, screw them in and take 1/16" off of the length. Thats alot of messing around, but if I sell a set of Micarta scales and a customer need the correct set of screws for the BK1, they will do the job right.

11/16" length is definately required!

"CRKS" when you got some screws cut, please post if you are planning on selling of some! I would be interested.

Tom, same here. If you sell some of your screw sets, I'd like to get a couple sets. Want to put the micarta on a Brute and on a Machax.

As soon as the Christmas Rush is over I will get some time to make the holder and grind the 3/4" down to 11/16". I will hook you up with a couple of sets, they are stainless steel screws if thats what you want. Being this busy is a good thing.

PS: how did you like the Ontario M-9 Bayonet on the end of one of my AR15's. Thats an official commemorative Afghanistan - Iraq war deal, (the knife not the AR) although Olympic Arms has been sending allot of M16 over. The upper receiver is the same thing they are send on the M-16 A2, and the lower receiver has allot of the same parts. I will be selling the M-9 soon too.

GUYON, if your still looking for a BK77 I can hook you up. I was doing an after Christmas inventory and I found a few BK77's In my Bk2 stacks. They must have been there since yarly 2006.

How much are the BK77's? Is that a good collector's knife?

To Guyon: I really like the BK 9 I bought from you! I installed the micarta scales and used the knife extensively on a recent hunting trip. It's great for clearing shooting lanes around a brush blind. I used it and a Necker to quarter a deer quickly in the field too. It's going back out with me this weekend as a matter of fact.

One rides in my day pack all the time. Great knife. Glad you liked that one. I just picked up another on the Exchange recently. Never hurts to have a spare in case Ethan pulls the line from Camillus.

I'm glad I found CRKS, Tom has been very good to deal with, email replies are fast. I've got the phenolic scales on the way for my BK7 and got the Campanion on the way. Should be good knives for tough use up here in Nova Scotia. Best wishes for the new year.

Speaking of spares, I picked up a desert tan BK9 and BK7 as collectors items.
:)
I have a Campanion and Crewman on the way....This is addictive. Does anyone have a used BK9 I can buy for a spare?

CRKS - How is your stock? Any shipments coming in in January?:D

I have a bunch of BK2's and BK3's remaining in stock one or two of every thing else. I had a few BK77's but I sold them last night, the deal went down in a strange way and to keep the customer happy I sold her all 4. I had one of the BK77 knives on ebay, but because I sold all 4 I will have to sell my own knife if someone bids on it (I hope not).

I should be getting my Becker knives restocked at the end of January, at least thats the word on 54 Main street.

Oh well... you snooze, you lose.

Tom, at $499, I think your personal knife is safe. :D

When the auction originaly started it was for $250.00 OBO. I think it would have been gone before the end of the weekend. Then the deal on the other 4 went down so I changed the price to the $500.00 mark. I realy dont want to sell it but I paid $5.00 to list it. I thought it may attract some attention to some of my other knives. Belive me I was not trying to pull a fast one, sometimes thing dont happen like you plan.

PS. To the (4) BK77 buyer, no hard feelings, I hope to do busness with you again.

To the (4) BK77 buyer, hard feelings in spades. Did you have to hog them all?

GUYON, your too much!!!! you are definitely on the top of my list for the next BK77 (unless you find one in the mean time)

Some input from anyone;
I need some input on this knife shown below; I am thinking about stocking this Ontario Knife. I looks and sounds like a winner. It has been out for a few year but it may have a low profile.

Ontario Knife USA
Abaniko designed by Bram Frank.
2 models the 7 and the 5
7 is 12" over all
5 is 10-5/8" over all
Blade thickness .200"
1095 carbon steel full tang with black phosphate coating.
Micarta handles.
Molle sheath.

As I look at and hold this knife the first thing that comes to mind; If a CQB1 and a Becker had children this what they would turn out like.

Who better than Becker knife folks to give me some imput on this knife.

I didnt get a wholesale price yet, but if the price is right I am going to abuse the two knives that I have. I will put them to the test, this is what I did with the beckers before I added that lines to my store.

Is there an Ontario Knife Forum here?
