Extreme Busse mods in progress

Please don't tell me you ground up 3 3-series knives.

I like the looks so far, but you ground off hte talon holes, the handle, the knife grind. At taht point, I wonder if you could have just stolen some INFI, had Andrew make you the knife you wanted and then bartered Jerry some JWB for the heat-treat. Might have been cheaper. LOL

WOW that's radical.

I still think the FBM conversion into two folders was the most radical INFI mod we've seen yet. I'm not even close to that yet!

The blade grind is mostly the same - just with a convexed bevel rather than a flat grind with v-ground edge. And Andrew is improving the distal taper a bit. So basically all he is doing is making performance-based improvements.

What can I say, I love mods.

So I'm right? 3-series, likely BA3's.

I think it's awesome. Heck, my BA3 will rise in value because of this. LOL

(Truth be told - the former owner of my BA3 ground off the butt. Makes a WORLD of difference in that knife. I could definitely see a reasoning and logic to your mods. Heck, I've mused in the past that a handle the length of an AD would be perfect on a BA3. esp. with a minuscule choil. You've done all of that. . . assuming these are BA3's. I bet teh balance is perfect at this point.)

Looking good Andrew, you do all right for someone without ninja monkeys in the shop. :p You got a good maker to mod out your knives, he's pretty good ole boy for someone that lives in the frozen wastelands of PA.

They are not BA3s. If they were, I probably would have kept them as-is... well, mostly. They look pretty handy but I might have ground off the butt if I had gotten my hands on one.

SAR5's were already convexed. That was my thought as well. Plus no front talon-hole/guard area. (Just a recessed talon hole.)

I'm dyin to see full frontals on this. Esp. some before/after shots.

Is it at least something with a 3-series handle? Like a PD or something?

I got it... SAR5s.

What did I win? :D :p

Any more pics yet?

.

Not a SAR5.

Andrew has to produce more pics. All the pics I have will give away what the knife is, and I really don't want to do that until they are done...

Andrew???

Casper... that's important stuff right there.

can't wait to see more pics... when you get the chance. :)

I was just trying to get Moloko to post the "give it away" pics. :D

Word from Andrew is he is making the sheaths while waiting for satin finish compound.

I have seen pics of one of the (almost) finished blades and the distal taper is awesome! He did a fine job of increasing the stabbing power of these little monsters while keeping the saber grind intact for heavy cutting and vicious slashing.

Boy, I sure wish I had some nonrevealing pics right about now...

That's a better than average doodle if you ask me. Mighty entertaining in fact when you look close.

+1

I think its pretty cool!

.

Thanks all! It'll be in a book with 99 other pieces I made. I'll let you know when the book publishes. Should be in the next month or so.

Back to the knives... I don't have finished pics yet and I am wondering if I should just show you the rest of the works in progress pics so you can see before and after shots and so forth.

What do you think?
