The figure in these blocks is way way more 3 dimensional than I am used to seeing with figured walnut. These were cut from another slab that I stashed a few years ago.

These pieces have been lightly sanded to 80 grit. I dampened the wood for the photos so you could see the excellent colors, grain and figure. They will look even better when you fine sand and finish these. I recommend an oil finish to maximize the chatoyancy in the figuring.

Shipping for these blocks are $2.50 USPS 1st Class or $5 USPS Priority Mail in the US. If you buy 2 or more, I will pay shipping for you.

Don't miss out on these. You don't see walnut like this very often.
Just say "I'll take #...., and I will mark it sold and send you a PM with payment info.

No more curly walnut for a while. I will probably list some more near the end of the month. There may still be some on our website.

Hi,
Would you happen to have any of this in BIG pieces? I would love to be able to use some for a guitar...

Hi Phillip,
Oh yes, I have more. What dimensions are you looking for? Acoustic or electric? Let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
Mark

Hi Mark,
I'm making acoustic guitars, so for backs I need 8" X 20" minimum, by whatever thickness.
For sides, 5" by 32", by whatever thickness you have.

Thanks,
Phillip

This is really nice walnut that will finish beautifully. You can maximize the curly figure by using an oil finish.

The new batch at the top of this thread came from wood we purchased from the estate of a former burl shop owner. The pieces have unusual bands of orange coloring and seems a good bit harder than normal California Walnut.

Just a quick comment. The wood will finish darker than the photos show. The flash from my camera makes the walnut look lighter than it should be.
